Observation of the isospin-violating decayJ/ψ→ϕπ0f0(980)
Using a sample of 1.31 x 10(9) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the decays J/psi -> phi pi(+)pi(-)pi(0) and J/psi -> phi pi(0)pi(0)pi(0) are investigated. The isospin- violating decay J/psi -> phi pi(0)f(0)(980) with f(0)(980)-> pi pi is observed for the first time. The width of the f(0)(980) obtained from the dipion mass spectrum is found to be much smaller than the world average value. In the pi(0)f(0)(980) mass spectrum, there is evidence of f(1)(1285) production. By studying the decay J/psi ->eta', the branching fractions of eta' -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0) and eta' -> pi(0)pi(0)pi(0), as well as their ratio, are also measured.
Measurement of the absolute branching fraction for Λc+→Λμ+νμ
Abstract We report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction for Λ c + → Λ μ + ν μ . This measurement is based on a sample of e + e − annihilation data produced at a center-of-mass energy s = 4.6 GeV , collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage rings. The sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 567 pb − 1 . The branching fraction is determined to be B ( Λ c + → Λ μ + ν μ ) = ( 3.49 ± 0.46 ( stat ) ± 0.27 ( syst ) ) % . In addition, we calculate the ratio B ( Λ c + → Λ μ + ν μ ) / B ( Λ c + → Λ e + ν e ) to be 0.96 ± 0.16 ( stat ) ± 0.04 ( syst ) .
Dalitz plot analyses of J/ψ→π+π−π0 , J/ψ→K+K−π0 , and J/ψ→Ks0K±π∓ produced via e+e− annihilation with initial-state radiation
We study the processes e^+e^− → γISR J/ψ, where J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0, J/ψ → K^+K^−π^0, and J/ψ → K^0_SK^±π^∓ using a data sample of 519 fb^(−1) recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^− collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(nS) (n=2,3,4) resonances. We measure the ratio of branching fractions R_1 = ^(B(J/ψ → K^+K^−π^0)) /_(B(J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0)) and R_2 = ^(B(J/ψ → K^0_SK^±π^∓))/_(B(J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0)). We perform Dalitz plot analyses of the three J/ψ decay modes and measure fractions for resonances contributing to the decays. We also analyze the J/ψ → π^+π^−π^0 decay using the Veneziano model. We observe structures compatible with the pres…
Search for a Stable Six-Quark State at BABAR
Recent investigations have suggested that the six-quark combination uuddss could be a deeply bound state (S) that has eluded detection so far, and a potential dark matter candidate. We report the first search for a stable, doubly strange six-quark state in Upsilon -> S anti-Lambda anti-Lambda decays based on a sample of 90 million Upsilon(2S) and 110 million Upsilon(3S) decays collected by the BABAR experiment. No signal is observed, and 90% confidence level limits on the combined Upsilon(2S,3S) -> S anti-Lambda anti-Lambda branching fraction in the range (1.2-1.4)x10^-7 are derived for m_S < 2.05 GeV. These bounds set stringent limits on the existence of such exotic particles.

Measurement of theD*(2010)+natural linewidth and theD*(2010)+−D0mass difference
We measure the mass difference, Δm_0, between the D^*(2010)^+ and the D^0 and the natural linewidth, Γ, of the transition D^*(2010)^+ → D^0π^+. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(4S) resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 477 fb^(-1). The D^0 is reconstructed in the decay modes D^0 → K^-π^+ and D^0 → K^-π^+π^-π^+. For the decay mode D^0 → K^-π^+ we obtain Γ=(83.4±1.7±1.5) keV and Δm_0=(145425.6±0.6±1.8) keV, where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. For the D^0 → K^-π^+π^-π^+ mode we obtain Γ=(83.2±1.5±2.6) keV and Δm_0 = (145426.6±0.5±2.0) keV. The combined measurements…

We present a search for f_(J)(2220) production in radiative J/ψ→γf_(J)(2220) decays using 460 fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e^(+)e^(-) collider. The f_(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K^(+)K^(-) and K_(S)^(0)K_(S)^(0). No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/ψ→γf_(J)(2220) and f_(J)(2220)→K^(+)K^(-)(K_(S)^(0)K_(S)^(0)) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10^(-5), below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment.
Measurement of branching fractions ofBdecays toK1(1270)πandK1(1400)πand determination of the CKM angleαfromB0→a1(1260)±π∓
We report measurements of the branching fractions of neutral and charged B meson decays to final states containing a K_1(1270) or K_1(1400) meson and a charged pion. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, correspond to 454×10^6 BB pairs produced in e^+e^- annihilation. We measure the branching fractions B(B^0→K_1(1270)^+π-+K_1(1400)^+π-)=3.1_(-0.7)^(+0.8)×10^(-5) and B(B^+→K_1(1270)^0π^++K_1(1400)^0π^+)=2.9_(-1.7)^(+2.9)×10^(-5) (<8.2×10^(-5) at 90% confidence level), where the errors are statistical and systematic combined. The B^0 decay mode is observed with a significance of 7.5σ, while a significance of 3.2σ is obtained for the B^+ decay…
Evidence for an Excess ofB¯→D(*)τ−ν¯τDecays
Based on the full BaBar data sample, we report improved measurements of the ratios R(D(*)) = B(B -> D(*) Tau Nu)/B(B -> D(*) l Nu), where l is either e or mu. These ratios are sensitive to new physics contributions in the form of a charged Higgs boson. We measure R(D) = 0.440 +- 0.058 +- 0.042 and R(D*) = 0.332 +- 0.024 +- 0.018, which exceed the Standard Model expectations by 2.0 sigma and 2.7 sigma, respectively. Taken together, our results disagree with these expectations at the 3.4 sigma level. This excess cannot be explained by a charged Higgs boson in the type II two-Higgs-doublet model. We also report the observation of the decay B -> D Tau Nu, with a significance of 6.8 sigma.
Measurement of e+e−→π+π−ψ(3686) from 4.008 to 4.600 GeV and observation of a charged structure in the π±ψ(3686) mass spectrum
We study the process e(+)e(-) -> p(+)p(-)psi(3686) using 5.1 fb(-1) of data collected at 16 center-of-mass energy (root s) points from 4.008 to 4.600 GeV by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The measured Born cross sections for e(+)e(-) -> p(+)p(-)psi(3686) are consistent with previous results, but with much improved precision. A fit to the cross section shows contributions from two structures: the first has M = 4209.5 +/- 7.4 +/- 1.4 MeV/c(2) and Gamma = 80.1 +/- 24.6 +/- 2.9 MeV, and the second has M = 4383.8 +/- 4.2 +/- 0.8 MeV/c(2) and Gamma = 84.2 +/- 12.5 +/- 2.1 MeV, where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. The lower-mass resonance is obse…
Search for a Dark Leptophilic Scalar in e(+) e(-) Collisions
Many scenarios of physics beyond the standard model predict the existence of new gauge singlets, which might be substantially lighter than the weak scale. The experimental constraints on additional scalars with masses in the MeV to GeV range could be significantly weakened if they interact predominantly with leptons rather than quarks. At an e+e- collider, such a leptophilic scalar (φL) would be produced predominantly through radiation from a τ lepton. We report herein a search for e+e-→τ+τ-φL, φL→ℓ+ℓ- (ℓ=e, μ) using data collected by the BABAR experiment at SLAC. No significant signal is observed, and we set limits on the φL coupling to leptons in the range 0.04<mφL<7.0 GeV. These bounds s…
Study ofe+e−→ωχcJat Center of Mass Energies from 4.21 to 4.42 GeV
Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at nine center of mass energies from 4.21 to 4.42 GeV, we search for the production of e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(cJ) (J = 0, 1, 2). The process e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(c0) is observed for the first time, and the Born cross sections at root s = 4.23 and 4.26 GeV are measured to be (55.4 +/- 6.0 +/- 5.9) and (23.7 +/- 5.3 +/- 3.5) pb, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The omega chi(c0) signals at the other seven energies and the e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(c1) and omega chi(c2) signals are not significant, and the upper limits on the cross sections are determined. By ex…
Observation of the $\psi(1^3D_2)$ state in $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-\gamma\chi_{c1}$ at BESIII
We report the observation of the $X(3823)$ in the process $e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-X(3823) \to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma\chi_{c1}$ with a statistical significance of $6.2\sigma$, in data samples at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=$4.230, 4.260, 4.360, 4.420 and 4.600~GeV collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII electron positron collider. The measured mass of the $X(3823)$ is $(3821.7\pm 1.3\pm 0.7)$~MeV/$c^2$, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic, and the width is less than $16$~MeV at the 90\% confidence level. The products of the Born cross sections for $e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-X(3823)$ and the branching ratio $\mathcal{B}[X(3823)\to \gamma\chi_{c1,c2}]$ are also measu…
B-meson decays toη′ρ,η′f0, andη′K*
We present measurements of B-meson decays to the final states η′ρ, η′f_0, and η′K*, where K* stands for a vector, scalar, or tensor strange meson. We observe a significant signal or evidence for η′ρ^+ and all the η′K* channels. We also measure, where applicable, the charge asymmetries, finding results consistent with no direct CP violation in all cases. The measurements are performed on a data sample consisting of 467 × 10^6 BB(overbar) pairs, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^- collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Our results favor the theoretical predictions from perturbative QCD and QCD factorization and we observe an enhancement of the tensor K*_2(143…

In an analysis of a 2.92 fb(-1) data sample taken at 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider, we measure the absolute decay branching fractions B(D-0 -> K(-)e(+)nu(e)) = (3.505 +/- 0.014 +/- 0.033)% and B(D-0 -> pi(-)e(+)nu(e)) = (0.295 +/- 0.004 +/- 0.003)%. From a study of the differential decay rates we obtain the products of hadronic form factor and the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix element f(+)(K)(0)vertical bar V-cs vertical bar = 0.7172 +/- 0.0025 +/- 0.0035 and f(+)(pi)(0)vertical bar V-cd vertical bar = 0.1435 +/- 0.0018 +/- 0.0009. Combining these products with the values of vertical bar V-cs(d)vertical bar from the SM constrain…

Antideuteron production inϒ(nS)decays and ine+e−→qq¯ats≈10.58 GeV
We present measurements of the inclusive production of antideuterons in e^+e^− annihilation into hadrons at ≈10.58 GeV center-of-mass energy and in Υ(1S,2S,3S) decays. The results are obtained using data collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II electron-positron collider. Assuming a fireball spectral shape for the emitted antideuteron momentum, we find B(Υ(1S)→d[bar]X)=(2.81±0.49(stat)^(+0.20)_(−0.24)(syst))×10^(−5), B(Υ(2S)→d[bar]X)=(2.64±0.11(stat)^(+0.26)(−0.21)(syst))×10^(−5), B(Υ(3S)→d[bar]X)=(2.33±0.15(stat)^(+0.31)_(−0.28)(syst))×10^(−5), and σ(e^+e^− →d[bar]X)=(9.63±0.41(stat)^(+1.17)_(−1.01)(syst) fb.
Measurement of theB0→π−ℓ+νandB+→η(′)ℓ+νbranching fractions, theB0→π−ℓ+νandB+→ηℓ+νform-factor shapes, and determination of|Vub|
We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B^+ → η^((′))l^+ν and B^0 → π^-l^+ν, undertaken with approximately 464 × 10^6 BB pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions for B^+ → ηl^+ν and B^0 → π^-l^+ν decays in three and 12 bins of q^2, respectively, from which we extract the f_+(q^2) form-factor shapes and the total branching fractions B(B^+ → ηl^+ν)=(0.36 ± 0.05_(stat) ± 0.04_(syst))× 10^(-4) and B(B^0 → π^-l^+ν)=(1.42 ± 0.05_(stat) ± 0.07_(syst)) × 10^(-4). We also measure B…
Search for a lightCP-odd Higgs boson in radiative decays ofJ/ψ
We search for a light Higgs boson A(0) in the fully reconstructed decay chain of J/psi -> gamma A(0), A(0)-> mu(+)mu(-) using (225.0 +/- 2.8) x 10(6) J/psi events collected by the BESIII experiment. The A(0) is a hypothetical CP-odd light Higgs boson predicted by many extensions of the Standard Model including two spin-0 doublets plus an extra singlet. We find no evidence for A(0) production and set 90% confidence-level upper limits on the product branching fraction B(J/psi -> gamma A(0)) x B(A(0)-> mu(+)mu(-)) in the range of (2.8-495.3) x 10(-8) for 0.212 <= mA(0) <= 3.0 GeV/c(2). The new limits are five times below our previous results, and the nature of the A(0) is constrained to be mos…

Search for a low-mass scalar Higgs boson decaying to a tau pair in single-photon decays of Y(1S)
We search for a low-mass scalar CP-odd Higgs boson, A(0), produced in the radiative decay of the upsilon resonance and decaying into a tau(+)tau(-) pair: Y(1S) -> gamma A(0). The production of Y(1S) mesons is tagged by Y(2S) -> pi(+)pi(-) Y(1S) transitions, using a sample of (98.3 +/- 0.9) x 10(6) Y(2S) mesons collected by the BABAR detector. We find no evidence for a Higgs boson in the mass range 3: 5 <= m(A)0 <= 9: 2 GeV, and combine these results with our previous search for the tau decays of the light Higgs in radiative Y(3S) decays, setting limits on the coupling of A(0) to the b (b) over bar quarks in the range 0.09-1.9. Our measurements improve the constraints on the parameters of th…

Search for the radiative leptonic decay D+→γe+νe
Using an electron-positron collision data sample of 2.93 fb(-1) collected at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we present the first search for the radiative leptonic decay D+ -> gamma e(+)nu(e). The analysis is performed with a double-tag method. We do not observe a significant D+ -> gamma e(+)nu(e) signal, and obtain an upper limit on the branching fraction of D+ -> gamma e(+)nu(e) decay with the energy of radiative photon larger than 10 MeV of 3.0 x 10(-5) at the 90% confidence level.
Measurement of cross sections of the interactions e+e−→ ϕϕω and e+e−→ ϕϕϕ at center-of-mass energies from 4.008 to 4.600 GeV
Abstract Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at six center-of-mass energies between 4.008 and 4.600 GeV, we observe the processes e + e − → ϕ ϕ ω and e + e − → ϕ ϕ ϕ . The Born cross sections are measured and the ratio of the cross sections σ ( e + e − → ϕ ϕ ω ) / σ ( e + e − → ϕ ϕ ϕ ) is estimated to be 1.75 ± 0.22 ± 0.19 averaged over six energy points, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The results represent first measurements of these interactions.
Measurement of Azimuthal Asymmetries in Inclusive Charged Dipion Production ine+e−Annihilations ats=3.65 GeV
We present a measurement of the azimuthal asymmetries of two charged pions in the inclusive process e(+) e(-) -> pi pi X based on a data set of 62 pb(-1) at the center-of-mass energy of 3.65 GeV collected with the SESIII detector. These asymmetries can be attributed to the Collins fragmentation function. We observe a nonzero asymmetry, which increases with increasing pion momentum. As our energy scale is close to that of the existing semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering experimental data, the measured asymmetries are important inputs for the global analysis of extracting the quark transversity distribution inside the nucleon and are valuable to explore the energy evolution of the spin-d…

Using 2.92 fb(-1) of electron-positron annihilation data collected at root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we report the results of a search for the flavor-changing neutral current process D-0 -> gamma gamma using a double-tag technique. We find no signal and set an upper limit at 90% confidence level for the branching fraction of B(D-0 -> gamma gamma pi(0)pi(0)) = (8.24 +/- 0.21(stat) +/- 0.30(syst)) x 10(-4), the most precise measurement to date and consistent with the current world average.
Study ofD+→K−π+e+νe
We present an analysis of the decay D+ -> K-pi(+)e(+)nu(e) based on data collected by the BESIII experiment at the psi(3770) resonance. Using a nearly background-free sample of 18262 events, we measure the branching fraction B(D+ -> K-pi+e+nu e) = (3.77 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.08)%. For 0.8 K-pi+e+nu e)([0.8,1.0]) = (3.39 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.08)%. A partial wave analysis shows that the dominant (K) over bar* (892)degrees component is accompanied by an S-wave contribution accounting for (6.05 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.18)% of the total rate and that other components are negligible. The parameters of the (K) over bar* (892)degrees resonance and of the form factors based on the spectroscopic pole dominance predictions…
Exclusive measurements of b → sγ transition rate and photon energy spectrum
We use 429 fb^(-1) of e^+e^- collision data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector to measure the radiative transition rate of b→sγ with a sum of 38 exclusive final states. The inclusive branching fraction with a minimum photon energy of 1.9 GeV is found to be B(B → X_sγ)=(3.29±0.19±0.48)×10+(-4) where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We also measure the first and second moments of the photon energy spectrum and extract the best-fit values for the heavy-quark parameters, m_b and μ_π^2, in the kinetic and shape function models.
Search for the decayD0→γγand measurement of the branching fraction forD0→π0π0
We search for the rare decay of the D^0 meson to two photons, D^0→γγ, and present a measurement of the branching fraction for a D^0 meson decaying to two neutral pions, B(D^0→π^0π^0). The data sample analyzed corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 470.5 fb^(-1) collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider at SLAC. We place an upper limit on the branching fraction, B(D^0→γγ)<2.2×10^(-6), at 90% confidence level. This limit improves on the existing limit by an order of magnitude. We also find B(D^0→π^0π^0)=(8.4±0.1±0.4±0.3)×10^(-4).
Observation ofZc(3900)0ine+e−→π0π0J/ψ
Using a data sample collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we observe a new neutral state Z(c)(3900)(0) with a significance of 10.4 sigma. The mass and width are measured to be 3894.8 +/- 2.3 +/- 3.2 MeV/c(2) and 29.6 +/- 8.2 +/- 8.2 MeV, respectively, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. The Born cross section for e(+)e(-) -> pi(0)pi(0) J/Psi and the fraction of it attributable to pi(0)Z(c)(3900)(0) -> pi(0)pi(0) J/Psi in the range E-c.m. = 4.19-4.42 GeV are also determined. We interpret this state as the neutral partner of the four-quark candidate Z(c)(3900)(+/-).

Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb(-1) taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider, we perform an analysis of the semileptonic decays D0(+) -> pi(-(0))mu(+)nu(mu ). The branching fractions of D-0 -> pi(-)mu(+)nu(mu), and D+ -> pi(0)mu(+)nu(mu ) are measured to be (0.272 +/- 0.008(start) +/- 0.006(syst))% and (0.350 +/- 0.011(star) +/- 0.010(syst))%, respectively, where the former is of much improved precision compared to previous results and the latter is determined for the first time. Using these results along with previous BESIII measurements of D0(+) -> pi(-(0))e(+)nu(e), we calculate the bra…

Search for Long-Lived Particles ine+e−Collisions
We present a search for a neutral, long-lived particle L that is produced in e^+e^− collisions and decays at a significant distance from the e^+e^− interaction point into various flavor combinations of two oppositely charged tracks. The analysis uses an e^+e^− data sample with a luminosity of 489.1 fb^(−1) collected by the BABAR detector at the Υ(4S), Υ(3S), and Υ(2S) resonances and just below the Υ(4S). Fitting the two-track mass distribution in search of a signal peak, we do not observe a significant signal, and set 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the L production cross section, branching fraction, and reconstruction efficiency for six possible two-body L decay modes …
Measurement of the D*(2010)+−D+ Mass Difference
We measure the mass difference, Δm_{+}, between the D^{*}(2010)^{+} and the D^{+} using the decay chain D^{*}(2010)^{+}→D^{+}π^{0} with D^{+}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at and near the ϒ(4S) resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 468 fb^{-1}. We measure Δm_{+}=(140 601.0±6.8[stat]±12.9[syst]) keV. We combine this result with a previous BABAR measurement of Δm_{0}≡m(D^{*}(2010)^{+})-m(D^{0}) to obtain Δm_{D}=m(D^{+})-m(D^{0})=(4824.9±6.8[stat]±12.9[syst]) keV. These results are compatible with and approximately five times more precise than the Particle Data Group averages.

Using a sample of 2.25 x 10(8) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the J/psi semileptonic weak decay J/psi -> D-s(-) e(+)nu(e) +c.c. with a much higher sensitivity than previous searches. We also perform the first search for J/psi -> D-s(*-) e(+) nu(e) + c.c. No significant excess of a signal above background is observed in either channel. At the 90% confidence level, the upper limits are determined to be B(J/psi -> D-s(-) e(+) nu(e) + c.c.) D-s*(-) e(+) nu(e) + c.c.) < 1.8 x 10(-6), respectively. Both are consistent with Standard Model predictions.
Study of the reactione+e−→J/ψπ+π−via initial-state radiation atBABAR
We study the process e +e -→J/ψπ +π - with initial-state-radiation events produced at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy collider. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies 10.58 and 10.54 GeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 454fb -1. We investigate the J/ψπ +π - mass distribution in the region from 3.5 to 5.5GeV/c2. Below 3.7GeV/c2 the ψ(2S) signal dominates, and above 4GeV/c2 there is a significant peak due to the Y(4260). A fit to the data in the range 3.74-5.50GeV/c2 yields a mass value 4245±5(stat)±4(syst)MeV/c2 and a width value 114-15+16(stat) ±7(syst)MeV for this state. We do not confirm the report from the Belle Collaboration of a broad stru…
Measurement of the absolute branching fraction of D + → K̅ 0 e + ν e via K̅ 0 → π 0 π 0
By analyzing 2.93 fb(-1) data collected at the center-of-mass energy root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fraction of the semileptonic decay D+ -> (K) over bar (0)e(+)nu(e) to be B(D (+) -> (K) over bar (0)e(+)nu(e)) = (8.59 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.21)% using (K) over bar (0) -> K-S(0) -> pi(0) pi(0), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Our result is consistent with previous measurements within uncertainties..
Evidence of Two Resonant Structures in e+e−→π+π−hc
The cross sections of e(+)e(-) -> pi(+) pi(-) hc at center-of-mass energies from 3.896 to 4.600 GeVare measured using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The cross sections are found to be of the same order of magnitude as those of e(+)e(-) -> pi(+) pi(-) J/psi and e(+)e(-) -> pi(+) pi(-) psi (2S), but the line shape is inconsistent with the Y states observed in the latter two modes. Two structures are observed in the e(+)e(-) -> pi(+) pi(-) hc cross sections around 4.22 and 4.39 GeV/c(2), which we call Y(4220)and Y(4390), respectively. A fit with a coherent sum of two Breit-Wigner functions results in a mass of (4218.4(- 4.5)…
Amplitude analysis and measurement of the time-dependentCPasymmetry ofB0→KS0KS0KS0decays
We present the first results on the Dalitz-plot structure and improved measurements of the time-dependent CP-violation parameters of the process B0→KS0KS0KS0 obtained using 468×106 BB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. The Dalitz-plot structure is probed by a time-integrated amplitude analysis that does not distinguish between B0and B 0 decays. We measure the total inclusive branching fraction B(B0→KS0KS0KS0)=(6.19±0.48±0.15±0.12)×10-6, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third represents the Dalitz-plot signal model dependence. We also observe evidence for the intermediate resonant states f0…
Observation of a Neutral Structure near theDD¯*Mass Threshold ine+e−→(DD¯*)0π0ats=4.226and 4.257 GeV
A neutral structure in the D (D) over bar* system around the D (D) over bar* mass threshold is observed with a statistical significance greater than 10 sigma in the processes e(+)e(-) -> D+D*(-)pi(0) + c.c. and e(+)e(-) -> D-0(D) over bar*(0)pi(0) + c.c. at root s = 4.226 and 4.257 GeV in the BESIII experiment. The structure is denoted as Z(c)(3885)(0). Assuming the presence of a resonance, its pole mass and width are determined to be [3885.7(-5.7)(+4.3) (stat) +/- 8.4(syst)] MeV/c(2) and [35(-12)(+11) (stat) +/- 15(syst)] MeV, respectively. The Born cross sections are measured to be sigma[e(+)e(-) -> Z(c)(3885)(0)pi(0); Z(c)(3885)(0) -> D (D) over bar*] = [77 +/- 13(stat) +/- 17(syst)] pb …
Bmeson decays to charmless meson pairs containingηorη′mesons
We present updated measurements of the branching fractions for B-0 meson decays to eta K-0, eta eta, eta phi, eta omega, eta K-'(0), eta(')eta('), eta(')phi, and eta(')omega, and branching fractions and CP-violating charge asymmetries for B+ decays to eta pi(+), eta K+, eta(')pi(+), and eta K-'(+). The data represent the full data set of 467x10(6) BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Besides large signals for the four charged B decay modes and for B-0 ->eta K-'(0), we find evidence for three B-0 decay modes at greater than 3.0 sigma significance. We find B(B-0 ->eta K-0)=(1.15(-0.38)(+0.43)+…

We present improved measurements of CP-violation parameters in the decays B^0→π^+π^-, B^0→K^+π^-, and B^0→π^0π^0, and of the branching fractions for B^0→π^0π^0 and B^0→K^0π^0. The results are obtained with the full data set collected at the Υ(4S) resonance by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, corresponding to (467±5)×10^6 BB pairs. We find the CP-violation parameter values and branching fractions: S_(π^+π^-)=-0.68±0.10±0.03, C_(π^+π^-)=-0.25±0.08±0.02, A_(K^-π^+)=-0.107±0.016_(-0.004)^(+0.006), C_(π^0π^0)=-0.43±0.26±0.05, B(B^0→π^0π^0)=(1.83±0.21±0.13)×10^(-6), B(B^0→K^0π^0)= (10.1±0.6±0.4)×10^(-6), where in each cas…
Tests ofCPTsymmetry inB0−B¯0mixing and inB0→cc¯K0decays
Using the eight time dependences for the decays Upsilon(4S)-> B0 B0bar -> fj fk with the dacay into a flavor-specific state fj = ell+- X before or after the decay into a CP eigenstate fk = c cbar KS,KL, as measured by the BABAR experiment, we determine the three CPT-sensitive parameters Re(z) and Im(z) in B0-B0bar mixing and |Abar/A| in B0 -> c cbar K0 decays. We find Im(z) = 0.010 +- 0.030 +- 0.013, Re(z) = -0.065 +- 0.028 +- 0.014, and |Abar/A| = 0.999 +- 0.023 +- 0.017, in agreement with CPT symmetry.
Observation of Λc+→nKS0π+
We report the first direct measurement of decays of the Lambda(+)(c) baryon involving the neutron. The analysis is performed using 567 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected at root s = 4.599 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. A comparison to B[Lambda(+)(c) -> p( (K) over bar pi)(0)] provides an important test of isospin symmetry and final state interactions.

We report the measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating angle {gamma} through a Dalitz plot analysis of neutral D meson decays to K{sub S}{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} and K{sub S}{sup 0} K{sup +}K{sup -} produced in the processes B{sup {-+}} {yields} DK{sup {-+}}, B{sup {-+}} {yields} D* K{sup {-+}} with D* {yields} D{pi}{sup 0}, D{gamma}, and B{sup {-+}} {yields} DK*{sup {-+}} with K*{sup {-+}} {yields} K{sub S}{sup 0}{pi}{sup {-+}}, using 468 million B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e{sup +}e{sup -} collider at SLAC. Measurement of the proton form factor by studyinge+e−→pp¯
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the Born cross section of e(+)e(-) -> p (p) over tilde at 12 center-of-mass energies from 2232.4 to 3671.0 MeV. The corresponding effective electromagnetic form factor of the proton is deduced under the assumption that the electric and magnetic form factors are equal (vertical bar G(E)vertical bar = vertical bar G(M)vertical bar). In addition, the ratio of electric to magnetic form factors, vertical bar G(E)/G(M)vertical bar, and vertical bar G(M)vertical bar are extracted by fitting the polar angle distribution of the proton for the data samples with larger statistics, namely at root s = 2232.4 and 240…
Search forC-parity violation inJ/ψ→γγandγϕ
Using 1.06 x 10(8) psi(3686) events recorded in e(+)e(-) collisions at root s = 3.686 GeV with the BESIII at the BEPCII collider, we present searches for C-parity violation in J/psi -> gamma gamma and gamma phi decays via psi(3686) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-). No significant signals are observed in either channel. Upper limits on the branching fractions are set to be B(J/psi -> gamma gamma) gamma phi) < 1.4 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level. The former is one order of magnitude more stringent than the previous upper limit, and the latter represents the first limit on this decay channel.

Evidence ofB+→τ+νdecays with hadronicBtags
We present a search for the decay B+→τ+ν using 467.8×10^6 BB pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II B-Factory. We select a sample of events with one completely reconstructed B- in the hadronic decay mode (B-→D(*)0X- and B-→J/ψX-). We examine the rest of the event to search for a B+→τ+ν decay. We identify the τ+ lepton in the following modes: τ+→e+νν , τ+→μ+νν , τ+→π+ν and τ+→ρ+ν . We find an excess of events with respect to the expected background, which excludes the null signal hypothesis at the level of 3.8σ (including systematic uncertainties) and corresponds to a branching fraction value of B(B+→τ+ν)=(1.83_(-0.49)^(+0.53)(stat)±0.24(syst))×10^(…
Search for Production of Invisible Final States in Single-Photon Decays of Υ(1S)
We search for single-photon decays of the Upsilon(1S) resonance, Upsilon->gamma+invisible, where the invisible state is either a particle of definite mass, such as a light Higgs boson A0, or a pair of dark matter particles, chi chi-bar. Both A0 and chi are assumed to have zero spin. We tag Upsilon(1S) decays with a dipion transition Upsilon(2S)->pi+pi-Upsilon(1S) and look for events with a single energetic photon and significant missing energy. We find no evidence for such processes in the mass range m_A0<=9.2 GeV and m_chi<=4.5 GeV in the sample of 98e6 Upsilon(2S) decays collected with the BaBar detector and set stringent limits on new physics models that contain light dark ma…
Search forB¯→Λc+Xℓ−ν¯ℓdecays in events with a fully reconstructedBmeson
We present a search for semileptonic B decays to the charmed baryon Λc+ based on 420 fb-1 of data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage rings. By fully reconstructing the recoiling B in a hadronic decay mode, we reduce non-B backgrounds and determine the flavor of the signal B. We statistically correct the flavor for the effect of the B0 mixing. We obtain a 90% confidence level upper limit of B(B →Λc+Xl-ν l)/B(B →Λc+X)<3.5%.
Measurement of the neutralDmeson mixing parameters in a time-dependent amplitude analysis of theD0→π+π−π0decay
We measure the $D^0 - {\bar{D}}^0$ mixing parameters using a time-dependent amplitude analysis of the decay $D^0\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at and near the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 468.1 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$. The neutral $D$ meson candidates are selected from $D^{*}(2010)^+\to D^0 \pi_s^+$ decays where the flavor at the production is identified by the charge of the low momentum pion, $\pi_s^+$. The measured mixing parameters are $x = (1.5\pm1.2\pm0.6) \%$ and $y = (0.2\pm0.9\pm0.5) \%$, where the quoted uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.
Bottomonium spectroscopy and radiative transitions involving theχbJ(1P,2P)states atBaBar
We use (121±1) million Υ(3S) and (98±1) million Υ(2S) mesons recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^− collider at SLAC to perform a study of radiative transitions involving the χ_(bJ)(1P,2P) states in exclusive decays with μ^+μ^−γγ final states. We reconstruct twelve channels in four cascades using two complementary methods. In the first we identify both signal photon candidates in the electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC), employ a calorimeter timing-based technique to reduce backgrounds, and determine branching-ratio products and fine mass splittings. These results include the best observational significance yet for the χ_(b0)(2P)→γΥ(2S) and χ_(b0)(1P)→γΥ(1S) transitions. In the se…
Search for a Dark Photon ine+e−Collisions atBaBar
Dark sectors charged under a new Abelian interaction have recently received much attention in the context of dark matter models. These models introduce a light new mediator, the so-called dark photon (A^{'}), connecting the dark sector to the standard model. We present a search for a dark photon in the reaction e^{+}e^{-}→γA^{'}, A^{'}→e^{+}e^{-}, μ^{+}μ^{-} using 514 fb^{-1} of data collected with the BABAR detector. We observe no statistically significant deviations from the standard model predictions, and we set 90% confidence level upper limits on the mixing strength between the photon and dark photon at the level of 10^{-4}-10^{-3} for dark photon masses in the range 0.02-10.2 GeV. W…
Improved limits onB0decays to invisible(+γ)final states
We establish improved upper limits on branching fractions for B-0 decays to final states where the decay products are purely invisible (i.e., no observable final state particles) and for final states where the only visible product is a photon. Within the Standard Model, these decays have branching fractions that are below the current experimental sensitivity, but various models of physics beyond the Standard Model predict significant contributions for these channels. Using 471 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage ring at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, we establish upper limits at the 90% confide…

Results are also presented for narrower E_γ ranges. In addition, the direct CP asymmetry A_(CP)(B → X_(s+d)γ…
First Evidence for cos2β>0 and Resolution of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa Quark-Mixing Unitarity Triangle Ambiguity
We present first evidence that the cosine of the CP-violating weak phase 2β is positive, and hence exclude trigonometric multifold solutions of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) Unitarity Triangle using a time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of B^{0}→D^{(*)}h^{0} with D→K_{S}^{0}π^{+}π^{-} decays, where h^{0}∈{π^{0},η,ω} denotes a light unflavored and neutral hadron. The measurement is performed combining the final data sets of the BABAR and Belle experiments collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. The data samples contain (471±3)×10^{6}BB[over ¯] pairs recorded by the BABAR detector and (772±11)×10^{6}BB[over ¯] p…
Determination of the Spin and Parity of the Zc(3900)
The spin and parity of the Z(c)(3900)(+/-) state are determined to be J(P) = 1(+) with a statistical significance larger than 7 sigma over other quantum numbers in a partial wave analysis of the process e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-) J/psi We use a data sample of 1.92 fb(-1) accumulated at root s = 4.23 and 4.26 GeV with the BESIII experiment. Searches for rare or forbidden semileptonic charm decays
We present searches for rare or forbidden charm decays of the form $X_c^+\to h^\pm\ell^\mp\ell^{(\prime)+}$, where $X_c^+$ is a charm hadron ($D^+$, $D^+_s$, or $\Lambda_c^+$), $h^\pm$ is a pion, kaon, or proton, and $\ell^{(\prime)\pm}$ is an electron or muon. The analysis is based on $384 fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at or close to the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the BaBar detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. No significant signal is observed for any of the 35 decay modes that are investigated. We establish 90% confidence-level upper limits on the branching fractions between $1 \times 10^{-6}$ and $44 \times 10^{-6}$ depending on the channel. In most…
Precision Study of η′→γπ+π− Decay Dynamics
Using a low background data sample of 9.7×10^{5} J/ψ→γη^{'}, η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} events, which are 2 orders of magnitude larger than those from the previous experiments, recorded with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay dynamics of η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} are studied with both model-dependent and model-independent approaches. The contributions of ω and the ρ(770)-ω interference are observed for the first time in the decays η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} in both approaches. Additionally, a contribution from the box anomaly or the ρ(1450) resonance is required in the model-dependent approach, while the process specific part of the decay amplitude is determined in the model-independent approach.

In a sample of 467 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP- II collider at SLAC we have observed the decay (B) over bar (0) -> Lambda(+)(c)(p) over bar pi(0) and measured the branching fraction to be (1.94 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.50 x 10(-4), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and the uncertainty on the Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+) branching fraction, respectively. We determine an upper limit of 1.5 x 10(-6) at 90% C.L. for the product branching fraction B((B) over bar (0) -> Sigma(+)(c) (2455)(p) over bar) x B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)). Furthermore, we observe an enhancement at the threshold of the invariant mass of the baryon- antibaryo…
Evidence for the decayB0→ωωand search forB0→ωϕ
We describe searches for B meson decays to the charmless vector-vector final states ωω and ωϕ with 471 × 10^6B¯B pairs produced in e^+e^− annihilation at √s = 10.58 GeV using the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We measure the branching fraction β(B^0 → ωω) = (1.2 ± 0.3^(+0.3)_(-0.2) × 10^(−6), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, corresponding to a significance of 4.4 standard deviations. We also determine the upper limit β(B^0 → ωω) < 0.7 × 10^(−6) at 90% confidence level. These measurements provide the first evidence for the decay B^0 → ωω, and an improvement of the upper limit for the decay B^0 → ωϕ.
Search for Dimuon Decays of a Light Scalar Boson in Radiative Transitions Υ→γA0
We search for evidence of a light scalar boson in the radiative decays of the {Upsilon}(2S) and {Upsilon}(3S) resonances: {Upsilon}(2S, 3S) {yields} {gamma}A{sup 0}, A{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -}. Such a particle appears in extensions of the Standaard Model, where a light CP-odd Higgs boson naturally couples strongly to b-quarks. We find no evidence for such processes in the mass range 0.212 {<=} m{sub A{sup 0}} {<=} 9.3 GeV in the samples of 99 x 10{sup 6} {Upsilon}(2S) and 122 x 10{sup 6} {Upsilon}(3S) decays collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B-factory and set stringent upper limits on the effective coupling of the b quark to the A{sup 0}. We also limit the dimuon b…
Measurement of the time-dependentCPasymmetry of partially reconstructedB0→D*+D*−decays
We present a new measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry of B0->D*+D*- decays using (471+-5) million BBbar pairs collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II B Factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Using the technique of partial reconstruction, we measure the time-dependent CP asymmetry parameters S=-0.34+-0.12+-0.05$ and C=+0.15+-0.09+-0.04. Using the value for the CP-odd fraction R_perp=0.158+-0.028+-0.006, previously measured by BaBar with fully reconstructed B0->D*+D*- events, we extract the CP-even components S+=-0.49+-0.18+-0.07+-0.04 and C+=+0.15+-0.09+-0.04. In each case, the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic; the third uncertaint…
Search for newπ0-like particles produced in association with aτ-lepton pair
We report on a search in e^+e^− annihilations for new π^0-like particles produced in association with a τ-lepton pair. These objects, with a similar mass and similar decay modes to π^0 mesons, could provide an explanation for the non-asymptotic behavior of the pion-photon transition form factor observed by the BABAR Collaboration. No significant signal is observed, and limits on the production cross section at the level of 73 fb or 370 fb, depending on the model parameters, are determined at 90% confidence level. These upper limits lie below the cross section values needed to explain the BABAR form factor data.
Searches for Lepton Flavor Violation in the Decaysτ±→e±γandτ±→μ±γ
Searches for lepton-flavor-violating decays of a tau lepton to a lighter mass lepton and a photon have been performed with the entire data set of (963 +/- 7) x 10(6) tau decays collected by the BABAR detector near the Y(4S), Y(3S) and Y(2S) resonances. The searches yield no evidence of signals and we set upper limits on the branching fractions of B(tau(+/-) -> e(+/-)gamma) mu(+/-)gamma) < 4.4 X 10(-8) at 90% confidence level.
Observation of the electromagnetic doubly OZI-suppressed decayJ/ψ→ϕπ0
Using a sample of 1.31 billion J/psi events accumulated with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the observation of the decay J/psi -> phi pi(0), which is the first evidence for a doubly Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka suppressed electromagnetic J/psi decay. A clear structure is observed in the K+K- mass spectrum around 1.02 GeV/c(2), which can be attributed to interference between J/psi -> phi pi(0) and J/psi -> K+K- pi(0) decays. Due to this interference, two possible solutions are found. The corresponding measured values of the branching fraction of J/psi -> phi pi(0) are [2.94 +/- 0.16(stat) +/- 0.16(syst)] x 10(-6) and [1.24 +/- 0.33(stat) +/- 0.30(syst)] x 10(-7).
Observation of the baryonic decayB¯0→Λc+p¯K−K+
We report the observation of the baryonic decay B^0 → Λ^+_c pK^−K^+ using a data sample of 471×10^6 BB pairs produced in e^+e^− annihilations at √s = 10.58 GeV. This data sample was recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring at SLAC. We find B(B^0 → Λ^+_c pK^−K^+)=(2.5±0.4_((stat))±0.2_((syst))± 0.6_(B(Λ^+_c)))×10^(−5), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the uncertainty of the Λ^+_c →p K^−π^+ branching fraction, respectively. The result has a significance corresponding to 5.0 standard deviations, including all uncertainties. For the resonant decay B^0 → Λ^+_c pϕ, we determine the upper limit B(B^0 → Λ^+_c pϕ) <1.2 × 10^(−5) at 90% confidence le…
A cylindrical GEM detector with analog readout for the BESIII experiment
Abstract A cylindrical GEM detector with analog readout is under development for the upgrade of the Inner Tracker of the BESIII experiment at IHEP (Beijing). The new detector will match the requirements for momentum resolution ( σ pt / p t ~ 0.5 % at 1 GeV) and radial resolution ( σ xy ~ 120 μ m ) of the existing drift chamber and will improve significantly the spatial resolution along the beam direction ( σ z ~ 150 μ m ) with very small material budget (less than 1.5% of X 0 ). With respect to the state of the art the following innovations will be deployed: a lighter mechanical structure based on Rohacell, a new XV anode readout plane with jagged strip layout to reduce the parasitic capaci…
Study of radiative bottomonium transitions using converted photons
We use 111+/-1 million Upsilon(3S) and 89+/-1 million Upsilon(2S) events recorded by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II B-factory at SLAC to perform a study of radiative transitions between bottomonium states using photons that have been converted to e+e- pairs by the detector material. We observe Upsilon(3S) -> gamma chi_b0,2(1P) decay, make precise measurements of the branching fractions for chi_b1,2(1P,2P) -> gamma Upsilon(1S) and chi_b1,2(2P) -> gamma Upsilon(2S) decays, and search for radiative decay to the eta_b(1S) and eta_b(2S) states.
Study ofCPviolation in Dalitz-plot analyses ofB0→K+K−KS0,B+→K+K−K+, andB+→KS0KS0K+
We perform amplitude analyses of the decays B0→K +K -KS0, B +→K +K -K +, and B +→KS0KS0K +, and measure CP-violating parameters and partial branching fractions. The results are based on a data sample of approximately 470×106 BB decays, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. For B +→K +K -K +, we find a direct CP asymmetry in B +→(1020)K + of A CP=(12.8±4.4±1.3)%, which differs from zero by 2.8σ. For B0→K +K -KS0, we measure the CP-violating phase β eff((1020)KS0)=(21±6±2)°. For B +→KS0KS0K +, we measure an overall direct CP asymmetry of A CP=(4-5+4±2)%. We also perform an angular-moment analysis of the three c…

Using the entire sample of 467×10^6 Υ(4S)→BB[overbar] decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, we perform an analysis of B^± → DK^± decays, using decay modes in which the neutral D meson decays to either CP-eigenstates or non-CP-eigenstates. We measure the partial decay rate charge asymmetries for CP-even and CP-odd D final states to be A_(CP+) = 0.25±0.06±0.02 and A_(CP-) = -0.09±0.07±0.02, respectively, where the first error is the statistical and the second is the systematic uncertainty. The parameter A_(CP+) is different from zero with a significance of 3.6 standard deviations, constituting evidence f…

We present measurements of the branching fractions of three-prong and five-prong tau decay modes using a sample of 430 million tau lepton pairs, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 468 fb(-1), collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e_e storage rings at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The tau(-) -> (3 pi)(-) eta nu(tau), tau(-) -> (3 pi)(-) omega nu(tau), and tau(-) f(1) (1285)nu(tau) branching fractions are presented, as well as a new limit on the branching fraction of the second-class current decay tau(-) -> pi(-) eta'(958)nu(tau). We search for the decay mode tau(-) -> K- eta'(958)nu(tau) and for five-prong decay modes with kaons, and place the fi…
Study of dipion bottomonium transitions and search for thehb(1P)state
We study inclusive di-pion decays using a sample of 108 x 10{sup 6} {Upsilon}(3S) events recorded with the BABAR detector. We search for the decay mode {Upsilon}(3S) {yields} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}h{sub b} (1P) and find no evidence for the bottomonium spin-singlet state h{sub b}(1P) in the invariant mass distribution recoiling against the {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} system. Assuming the h{sub b}(1P) mass to be 9.900 GeV/c{sup 2}, we measure the upper limit on the branching fraction {Beta}[{Upsilon}(3S) {yields} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}h{sub b}(1P)] < 1.2 x 10{sup -4}, at 90% confidence level. We also investigate the {chi}{sub bJ}(2P) {yields} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} {chi}{sub bJ}(1P), {Upsilon}(3S)…
Measurement of theI=1/2Kπ S-wave amplitude from Dalitz plot analyses ofηc→KK¯πin two-photon interactions
We study the processes γγ→K^0_SK^±π^∓ and γγ→K^+K^−π^0 using a data sample of 519 fb^(−1) recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e− collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(nS) (n=2, 3, 4) resonances. We observe ηc decays to both final states and perform Dalitz plot analyses using a model-independent partial wave analysis technique. This allows a model-independent measurement of the mass-dependence of the I=1/2 Kπ S-wave amplitude and phase. A comparison between the present measurement and those from previous experiments indicates similar behavior for the phase up to a mass of 1.5 GeV/c^2. In contrast, the amplitudes show very marked…
Initial-state radiation measurement of thee+e−→π+π−π+π−cross section
We study the process e+e- -> pi+pi-pi+pi-gamma, with a photon emitted from the initial-state electron or positron, using 454.3 fb^-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at SLAC, corresponding to approximately 260,000 signal events. We use these data to extract the non-radiative sigma(e+e- ->pi+pi-pi+pi-) cross section in the energy range from 0.6 to 4.5 Gev. The total uncertainty of the cross section measurement in the peak region is less than 3%, higher in precision than the corresponding results obtained from energy scan data.

Search for lepton-number violatingB+→X−ℓ+ℓ′+decays
We report on a search for eleven lepton-number violating processes B^+→X^−l^+l'^+ with X^−=K^−, π^−, ρ^−, K^(*−), or D^− and l^+/l'^+=e^+ or μ^+, using a sample of 471±3 million BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^− collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find no evidence for any of these modes and place 90% confidence level upper limits on their branching fractions in the range (1.5–26)×10_(−7).
Search for theY(4140)viae+e−→γϕJ/ψats=4.23, 4.26 and 4.36 GeV
Using data samples collected at center-of-mass energies root s = 4.23, 4.26, and 4.36 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the production of the charmoniumlike state Y(4140) through a radiative transition followed by its decay to phi J/psi. No significant signal is observed and upper limits on sigma[e(+)e(-) -> gamma Y(4140)] . B(Y(4140) -> phi J/psi at the 90% confidence level are estimated as 0.35, 0.28, and 0.33 pb at root s = 4.23, 4.26, and 4.36 GeV, respectively.
Search for the decay modesD0→e+e−,D0→μ+μ−, andD0→e±μ∓
We present searches for the rare decay modes D^0→e^+e^-, D^0→μ^+μ^-, and D^0→e^±μ^∓ in continuum e^+e^-→cc events recorded by the BABAR detector in a data sample that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 468 fb^(-1). These decays are highly Glashow–Iliopoulos–Maiani suppressed but may be enhanced in several extensions of the standard model. Our observed event yields are consistent with the expected backgrounds. An excess is seen in the D^0→μ^+μ^- channel, although the observed yield is consistent with an upward background fluctuation at the 5% level. Using the Feldman–Cousins method, we set the following 90% confidence level intervals on the branching fractions: B(D^0→e^+e^-)<1.7×10^…
Evidence for e+e−→γηc(1S) at center-of-mass energies between 4.01 and 4.60 GeV
We present first evidence for the process e(+)e(-) -> gamma eta(c)(1S) at six center-of-mass energies between 4.01 and 4.60 GeV using data collected by the BESIII experiment operating at BEPCII. We measure the Born cross section at each energy using a combination of twelve eta(c)(1S) decay channels. We also combine all six energies under various assumptions for the energy-dependence of the cross section. If the process is assumed to proceed via the Y(4260), we measure a peak Born cross section sigma(peak)(e(+)e(-) -> gamma eta(c)(1S)) = 2.11 +/- 0.49 (stat.) +/- 0.36 (syst.) pb with a statistical significance of 4.2 sigma.

We present a search for decays of B mesons to final states with a b(1) meson and a rho or K*(d892) meson. The search is based on a data sample consisting of 465 million B (B) over bar pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We do not observe any statistically significant signal. The upper limits we set on the branching fractions range from 1.4 to 8.0 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level, including systematic uncertainties.

We find no evidence for second-class currents and we set an upper limit of 0.69% at 90% confidence level for the fraction of second-class currents in this decay mode.
Measurement of higher-order multipole amplitudes in ψ(3686)→γχc1,2 with χc1,2→γJ/ψ and search for the transition ηc(2S)→γJ/ψ
Using 106 x 10(6) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, we measure multipole amplitudes for the decay psi(3686) ->; gamma chi(c1,2) -> gamma gamma J/psi beyond the dominant electric-dipole amplitudes. The normalized magnetic-quadrupole (M2) amplitude for psi(3686) -> gamma chi(c1,2) -> gamma gamma J/psi and the normalized electric-dipole amplitudes for psi(3686) -> gamma chi(c2) -> gamma J/psi and determined. The M2 amplitudes for psi(3686) -> gamma chi(c1) and ; chi(c1,2) -> gamma J/psi are found to differ significantly from zero and are consistent with theoretical predictions. We also obtain the ratios of M2 contributions of psi(3686) and J/psi decays to;2,chi(c1,2,) b(2)(1…

We find no significant evidence for either mode and we set 90% probability upper limits on the branching fractions of ℬ(B^+ → D^+K^0) < 2:9 x 10^(-6) and ℬ(B^+ → D^+K*^0) < 3:0 x 10^(-6).

Study ofB→πlνandB→ρlνdecays and determination of|Vub|
We present an analysis of exclusive charmless semileptonic B-meson decays based on 377×106 BB pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the Υ(4S) resonance. We select four event samples corresponding to the decay modes B0→π-l+ν, B+→π0l+ν, B0→ρ-l+ν, and B+→ρ0l+ν and find the measured branching fractions to be consistent with isospin symmetry. Assuming isospin symmetry, we combine the two B→πlν samples, and similarly the two B→ρlν samples, and measure the branching fractions B(B0→π-l+ν)=(1.41±0.05±0.07)×10-4 and B(B0→ρ-l+ν)=(1.75±0.15±0.27)×10-4, where the errors are statistical and systematic. We compare the measured distribution in q2, the momentum transfer squared, with predictions for the…
Measurement of Collins asymmetries in inclusive production of charged pion pairs ine+e−annihilation atBABAR
We present measurements of Collins asymmetries in the inclusive process e^+e^−→ππX, where π stands for charged pions, at a center-of-mass energy of 10.6 GeV. We use a data sample of 468 fb^(−1) collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II B factory at SLAC, and consider pairs of charged pions produced in opposite hemispheres of hadronic events. We observe clear asymmetries in the distributions of the azimuthal angles in two distinct reference frames. We study the dependence of the asymmetry on several kinematic variables, finding that it increases with increasing pion momentum and momentum transverse to the analysis axis, and with increasing angle between the thrust and beam axis.
Observation of Time-Reversal Violation in the B0 Meson System
Although CP violation in the B meson system has been well established by the B factories, there has been no direct observation of time reversal violation. The decays of entangled neutral B mesons into definite flavor states ($B^0$ or $\bar{B}^0$), and $J/\psi K_S^0$ or $c\bar{c} K_S^0$ final states (referred to as $B_+$ or $B_-$), allow comparisons between the probabilities of four pairs of T-conjugated transitions, for example, $\bar{B}^0 \rightarrow B_-$ and $B_- \rightarrow \bar{B}^0$, as a function of the time difference between the two B decays. Using 468 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs produced in $\Upsilon(4S)$ decays collected by the BABAR detector at SLAC, we measure T-violating parameter…
Study of thee+e−→K+K−reaction in the energy range from 2.6 to 8.0 GeV
The e^+e^− → K^+K^− cross section and charged-kaon electromagnetic form factor are measured in the e^+e^− center-of-mass energy range (E) from 2.6 to 8.0 GeV using the initial-state radiation technique with an undetected photon. The study is performed using 469 fb^(−1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II2 e^+e^− collider at center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV. The form factor is found to decrease with energy faster than 1/E^2 and approaches the asymptotic QCD prediction. Production of the K^+K^− final state through the J/ψ and ψ(2S) intermediate states is observed. The results for the kaon form factor are used together with data from other experiments to perform a mod…
Collins asymmetries in inclusive chargedKKandKπpairs produced ine+e−annihilation
We present measurements of Collins asymmetries in the inclusive process e^+e^− → h_1h_2X, h_1h_2 = KK, Kπ, ππ, at the center-of-mass energy of 10.6 GeV, using a data sample of 468 fb^(−1) collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II B factory at SLAC National Accelerator Center. Considering hadrons in opposite thrust hemispheres of hadronic events, we observe clear azimuthal asymmetries in the ratio of unlike sign to like sign, and unlike sign to all charged h_1h_2 pairs, which increase with hadron energies. The Kπ asymmetries are similar to those measured for the ππ pairs, whereas those measured for high-energy KK pairs are, in general, larger.
Search forCPViolation inB0-B¯0Mixing Using Partial Reconstruction ofB0→D*−Xℓ+νℓand a Kaon Tag
We present results of a search for CP violation in B^0- B^0 mixing with the BABAR detector. We select a sample of B^0→D^(*-)Xl^+ν decays with a partial reconstruction method and use kaon tagging to assess the flavor of the other B meson in the event. We determine the CP violating asymmetry A_(CP)≡[N(B^0B^0)-N(B^0B^0)]/[N(B^0B^0)+N(B^0B^0)]=(0.06±0.17_(-0.32)^(+0.38))%, corresponding to Δ_(CP) = 1- |q/p|=(0.29±0.84_(-1.61)^(+1.88))×10^(-3).
Correlated leading baryon-antibaryon production ine+e−→cc¯→Λc+Λ¯c−X
We present a study of 649 +/- 35 e(+)e(-) -> c (c) over bar events produced at root s approximate to 10.6 GeV containing both Lambda(+)(c) baryon and a (Lambda) over bar (-)(c) antibaryon. The number observed is roughly 4 times that expected if the leading charmed hadron types are uncorrelated, confirming an observation by the CLEO Collaboration. We find a 2-jet topology in these events but very few additional baryons, demonstrating that the primary c and (c) over bar are predominantly contained in a correlated baryon-antibaryon system. In addition to the charmed baryons we observe on average 2.6 +/- 0.2 charged intermediate mesons, predominantly pions, carrying 65% of the remaining energy.
Dalitz plot analyses ofB0→D−D0K+andB+→D¯0D0K+decays
We present Dalitz plot analyses for the decays of B mesons to D^−D^0K^+ and D^0D^0K^+. We report the observation of the D^∗_(s1)(2700)^+ resonance in these two channels and obtain measurements of the mass M(D^∗_(s1)(2700)+)=2699^(+14)_(−7) MeV/c^2 and of the width Γ(D^∗_(s1)(2700)+)=127^(+24)_(−19) MeV, including statistical and systematic uncertainties. In addition, we observe an enhancement in the D^0K^+ invariant mass around 2350–2500 MeV/c^2 in both decays B^0→D^−D^0K^+ and B^+→D^0D^0K^+, which we are not able to interpret. The results are based on 429 fb^(−1) of data containing 471×10^6BB pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerato…
Extraction of form Factors from a Four-Dimensional Angular Analysis of B¯→D*ℓ−ν¯ℓ
An angular analysis of the decay B[over ¯]→D^{*}l^{-}ν[over ¯]_{l}, l∈{e,μ}, is reported using the full e^{+}e^{-} collision data set collected by the BABAR experiment at the ϒ(4S) resonance. One B meson from the ϒ(4S)→BB[over ¯] decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode, which constrains the kinematics and provides a determination of the neutrino momentum vector. The kinematics of the semileptonic decay is described by the dilepton mass squared, q^{2}, and three angles. The first unbinned fit to the full four-dimensional decay rate in the standard model is performed in the so-called Boyd-Grinstein-Lebed approach, which employs a generic q^{2} parametrization of the underlying f…
B0meson decays toρ0K*0,f0K*0, andρ−K*+, including higherK*resonances
We present branching fraction measurements for the decays B0 -> rho0 K*0, B0 -> f0 K*0, and B0 -> rho- K*+, where K* is an S-wave (K pi)_0* or a K*(892) meson; we also measure B0 -> f0 K_2*(1430)^0. For the K*(892) channels, we report measurements of longitudinal polarization fractions (for rho final states) and direct CP-violation asymmetries. These results are obtained from a sample of (471.0 +/- 2.8) x 10^6 BBbar pairs collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We observe rho0 K*(892)^0, rho0 (K pi)_0^{*0}, f0 K*(892)^0, and rho- K*(892)+ with greater than 5 sigma significance, including systematics. We re…

Using 448.0 x 10(6) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, an amplitude analysis is performed for psi(3686) -> gamma chi(c1), chi(c1) ->eta pi(+)pi(-) decays. The most dominant two- body structure observed is a(0)(980)(+/-) pi(-/+); a(0)(980)(+/-) -> eta pi(+/-.) line shape is modeled using a dispersion relation, and a significant nonzero a(0) (980) coupling to the eta'pi channel is measured. We observe chi(c1) -> a(2)(1700)pi production for the first time, with a significance larger than 17 sigma. The production of mesons with exotic quantum numbers, J(PC) = 1(-+), is investigated, and upper limits for the branching fractions chi(c1) -> pi(1)(1400)(+/-)pi(-/+) , chi(c1) -> pi…
Study of the decayB¯0→Λc+p¯π+π−and its intermediate states
We study the decay B^0→Λ_c^+p π^+π^-, reconstructing the Λ_c^+ baryon in the pK^-π^+ mode, using a data sample of 467×10^6 BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings at SLAC. We measure branching fractions for decays with intermediate Σ_c baryons to be B[B^0→Σ_c(2455)^(++)pπ^-]=(21.3±1.0±1.0±5.5)×10^(-5), B[B^0→Σ_c(2520)^(++)pπ^-]=(11.5±1.0±0.5±3.0)×10^(-5), B[B^0→Σ_c(2455)^0pπ^+]=(9.1±0.7±0.4±2.4)×10^(-5), and B[B^0→Σ_c(2520)^0pπ^+]=(2.2±0.7±0.1±0.6)×10^(-5), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the uncertainty on the Λ_c^+→pK^-π^+ branching fraction, respectively. For decays without Σ_c(2455) or Σ_c(2520) resonances, we measure B[B^0→…
Measurements of theτmass and the mass difference of theτ+andτ−atBABAR
We present the result from a precision measurement of the mass of the tau lepton, M-tau, based on 423 fb(-1) of data recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. Using a pseudomass endpoint method, we determine the mass to be 1776.68 +/- 0.12(stat)+/- 0.41(syst) MeV. We also measure the mass difference between the tau(+) and tau(-), and obtain (M-tau(+)-M-tau(-))/M-AVG(tau)=(-3.4 +/- 1.3(stat)+/- 0.3(syst))x10(-4), where M-AVG(tau) is the average value of M-tau(+) and M-tau(-).
Search for B+→K+τ+τ− at the BaBar Experiment
We search for the rare flavor-changing neutral current process B^{+}→K^{+}τ^{+}τ^{-} using data from the BABAR experiment. The data sample, collected at the center-of-mass energy of the ϒ(4S) resonance, corresponds to a total integrated luminosity of 424 fb^{-1} and to 471×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs. We reconstruct one B meson, produced in the ϒ(4S)→B^{+}B^{-} decay, in one of many hadronic decay modes and search for activity compatible with a B^{+}→K^{+}τ^{+}τ^{-} decay in the rest of the event. Each τ lepton is required to decay leptonically into an electron or muon and neutrinos. Comparing the expected number of background events with the data sample after applying the selection criteria,…
Study of doubly strange systems using stored antiprotons
Bound nuclear systems with two units of strangeness are still poorly known despite their importance for many strong interaction phenomena. Stored antiprotons beams in the GeV range represent an unparalleled factory for various hyperon-antihyperon pairs. Their outstanding large production probability in antiproton collisions will open the floodgates for a series of new studies of systems which contain two or even more units of strangeness at the PANDA experiment at FAIR. For the first time, high resolution gamma-spectroscopy of doubly strange Lambda Lambda-hypernuclei will be performed, thus complementing measurements of ground state decays of Lambda Lambda-hypernuclei at J-PARC or possible …
Measurement of the B0→D*−π+π−π+ branching fraction
Using a sample of (470.9 +- 2.8) x 10^6 BB-bar pairs, we measure the decay branching fraction B(B^0 -> D^*- pi^+ pi^- pi^+) = (7.26 +- 0.11 +- 0.31) x 10^-3, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Our measurement will be helpful in studies of lepton universality by measuring B(B^0 -> D^*- tau^+ nu_tau) using tau^+ -> pi^+ pi^- pi^+ nu-bar_tau decays, normalized to B(B^0 -> D^*- pi^+ pi^- pi^+.
Evidence for thehb(1P)meson in the decayΥ(3S)→π0hb(1P)
Using a sample of 122×10^6 Υ(3S) events recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at SLAC, we search for the h_b(1P) spin-singlet partner of the P-wave χ_(bJ)(1P) states in the sequential decay Υ(3S)→π^0h_b(1P), hb(1P)→γη_b(1S). We observe an excess of events above background in the distribution of the recoil mass against the π0 at mass 9902±4(stat)±2(syst) MeV/c^2. The width of the observed signal is consistent with experimental resolution, and its significance is 3.1σ, including systematic uncertainties. We obtain the value (4.3±1.1(stat)±0.9(syst))×10^(-4) for the product branching fraction B(Υ(3S)→π^0h_b)×B(h_b→γη_b).

We study the rare B meson decays B{+-,0} --> J/\psi\ K^+ K^- K{+-,0}, B{+-,0} --> J/\psi\ \phi\ K{+-,0}, and search for B0 --> J/\psi\ \phi, using 469 million BBbar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. We present new measurements of branching fractions and a study of the J/\psi\phi mass distribution in search of new charmonium-like states. In addition, we search for the decay B0 --> J/\psi\ \phi, and find no evidence of a signal.
Measurement of the Absolute Branching Fraction forΛc+→Λe+νe
We report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction for Lambda(+)(c) -> Lambda e(+)nu(e). This measurement is based on 567 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data produced at root s = 4.599 GeV, which is just above the Lambda(+)(c)Lambda(-)(c) threshold. The data were collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage rings. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Lambda(+)(c) -> Lambda e(+)nu(e)) = [3.63 +/- 0.38(stat) +/- 0.20(syst)] %, representing a significant improvement in precision over the current indirect determination. As the branching fraction for Lambda(+)(c) -> Lambda e(+)nu(e) is the benchmark for those of other Lambda(+)(c) semileptonic channels, our r…

We report an observation of the process J/psi -> gamma X(1835) -> gamma(KSKS0)-K-0 eta at low (KSKS0)-K-0 mass with a statistical significance larger than 12.9s using a data sample of 1.31 x 109 J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector. In this region of phase space the (KSKS0)-K-0 system is dominantly produced through the f (0)(980). By performing a partial wave analysis, we determine the spin parity of the Xd1835_ to be J(PC) = 0(-+). The mass and width of the observed X(1835) are 1844 +/- 9(stat)(-25)(+16)(syst) MeV/c(2) and 192(-17)(+20)(sta)(-43)(+62)(syst) MeV, respectively, which are consistent with the results obtained by BESIII in the channel J/psi -> gamma pi(+)pi(-)eta'.

Evidence for the baryonic decayB¯0→D0ΛΛ¯
Evidence is presented for the baryonic $B$ meson decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 \Lambda \bar{\Lambda}$ based on a data sample of $471 \times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with the {\it BABAR} detector at the PEP2 asymmetric $e^+e^-$ collider located at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 \Lambda \bar{\Lambda}) = (9.8^{+2.9}_{-2.6} \pm 1.9)\times 10^{-6}$, corresponding to a significance of $3.4$ standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. A search for the related baryonic $B$ meson decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 \Sigma^0 \bar{\Lambda}$ with $\Sigma^0\rightarrow\Lambda\gamma$ is performed and an…
Precision Measurement of the e+e−→Λc+Λ¯c− Cross Section Near Threshold
The cross section of the e(+)e(-) -> Lambda(+)(c)(Lambda) over bar (-)(c) process is measured with unprecedented precision using data collected with the BESIII detector at root s = 4574.5, 4580.0, 4590.0 and 4599.5 MeV. The nonzero cross section near the Lambda(+)(c)(Lambda) over bar (-)(c) production threshold is cleared. At center-of-mass energies root s = 4574.5 and 4599.5 MeV, the higher statistics data enable us to measure the Lambda(c) polar angle distributions. From these, the.c electric over magnetic form-factor ratios (vertical bar G(E)/G(M)vertical bar) are measured for the first time. They are found to be 1.14 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.07 and 1.23 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.03, respectively, where the …
Measurement ofCPviolation observables and parameters for the decaysB±→DK*±
We study the decay B--> DK*- using a sample of 379x10(6) Upsilon(4S)-> BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B factory. We perform a Gronau-London-Wyler analysis where the D meson decays into either a CP-even (CP+) eigenstate (K+K-, pi(+)pi(-)), CP-odd (CP-) eigenstate (K-S(0)pi(0), K-S(0)phi, K-S(0)omega) or a non-CP state (K-pi(+)). We also analyze D meson decays into K+pi(-) from a Cabibbo-favored D-0 decay or doubly suppressed D-0 decay [Atwood-Dunietz-Soni (ADS) analysis]. We measure observables that are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma: the partial-rate charge asymmetries A(CP +/-), the ratios R-CP +/- of the B-decay branching fractions in CP …
Measurement of the mass of the D^{0} meson
We report a measurement of the D-0 meson mass using the decay chain D* (2010) + -> D-0 pi(+) with D-0 -> K-K-K+pi(+). The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at and near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 477 fb(-1). We obtain m(D-0) (1864: 841 +/- 0: 048 +/- 0: 063) MeV, where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. The uncertainty of this measurement is half that of the best previous measurement.

We observe an excess of signal events with a significance of 5.2 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties and measure the branching fraction to be B(B-0 -> (KSK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+) (3.2 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.3) x 10(-6), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.
Analysis of theD+→K−π+e+νedecay channel
Using 347.5 fb^(-1) of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II electron-positron collider, 244×10^3 signal events for the D^+ → K^-π^+e^+ν_e decay channel are analyzed. This decay mode is dominated by the K ^*(892)^0 contribution. We determine the K ^*(892)^0 parameters: m_(K^*(892)^0)=(895.4±0.2±0.2) MeV/c^2, Γ_(K^*(892)^0)=(46.5±0.3±0.2) MeV/c^2, and the Blatt-Weisskopf parameter r_(BW) =2.1±0.5±0.5 (GeV/c)^-1, where the first uncertainty comes from statistics and the second from systematic uncertainties. We also measure the parameters defining the corresponding hadronic form factors at q^2 = 0 (r_V = ^(V(0))/_(A1(0)) = 1.463 ± 0.017 ± 0.031, r_2 = _(A1(0)) ^(A2(0))= 0.801±0…
Search for charged lepton flavor violation in narrow Y decays
Charged-lepton flavor-violating processes are unobservable in the standard model, but they are predicted to be enhanced in several extensions to the standard model, including supersymmetry and models with leptoquarks or compositeness. We present a search for such processes in a sample of 99 × 10 6 Υ ( 2 S ) decays and 117 × 10 6 Υ ( 3 S ) decays collected with the BABAR detector. We place upper limits on the branching fractions B ( Υ ( n S ) → e ± τ ∓ ) and B ( Υ ( n S ) → μ ± τ ∓ ) ( n = 2 , 3 ) at the 10 − 6 level and use these results to place lower limits of order 1 TeV on the mass scale of charged-lepton flavor-violating effective operators.
Observation of a Neutral Charmoniumlike StateZc(4025)0ine+e−→(D*D¯*)0π0
We report a study of the process e(+)e(-) -> (D*(D) over bar*)(0)pi(0) using e(+)e(-) collision data samples with integrated luminosities of 1092 pb(-1) at root s = 4.23 GeV and 826 pb(-1) at root s = 4.26 GeV collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. We observe a new neutral structure near the (D*(D) over bar*)(0) mass threshold in the pi(0) recoil mass spectrum, which we denote as Z(c)(4025)(0). Assuming a Breit-Wigner line shape, its pole mass and pole width are determined to be (4025.5(-4.7)(+2.0) +/- 3.1) MeV/c(2) and (23.0 +/- 6.0 +/- 1.0) MeV, respectively. The Born cross sections of e(+)e(-) -> Z(c)(4025)(0)pi(0) -> (D*(D) over bar*)(0)pi(0) are measured to be (…
Observation of directCPviolation in the measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angleγwithB±→D(*)K(*)±decays
We report the determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating angle γ through the combination of various measurements involving B^± → DK^±, B^± → D^*K^±, and B^± → DK^(*±) decays performed by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II e^+e^- collider at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Using up to 474 million BB pairs, we obtain γ=(69_(-16)^(+17))° modulo 180°. The total uncertainty is dominated by the statistical component, with the experimental and amplitude-model systematic uncertainties amounting to ±4°. The corresponding two-standard-deviation region is 41° < γ < 102°. This result is inconsistent with γ=0 with a significance of 5.9 standard deviations.

Using 467 fb(-1) of e+e- annihilation data collected with the BABAR detector, we measure (B(τ- → μ- ν(μ) ν(τ)))/(B(τ- → e- ν(e) ν(τ))) =(0.9796±0.0016±0.0036), (B(τ- → π- ν(τ)))/(B(τ- → e- ν(e) ν(τ))) = (0.5945±0.0014±0.0061), and (B(τ- → K- ν(τ)))/(B(τ- → e- ν(e) ν(τ))) = (0.03882±0.00032±0.00057), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. From these precision τ measurements, we test the standard model assumption of μ-e and τ-μ charge current lepton universality and provide determinations of |Vus| experimentally independent of the decay of a kaon.

Search for a Low-Mass Higgs Boson inΥ(3S)→γA0,A0→τ+τ−atBABAR
We search for a light Higgs boson, $A^0$, in the radiative decay $\Upsilon(3S)\to\gamma A^0$, $A^0\to\tau^+\tau^-$, $\tau^+\to e^+\nu_e \overline{\nu}_{\tau}$ or $\tau^+\to \mu^+ \nu_{\mu} \overline{\nu}_{\tau}$. The data sample contains 122 million $\Upsilon(3S)$ events recorded with the \babar detector. We find no evidence for a narrow structure in the studied $\tau^+\tau^-$ invariant mass region of $4.03(1.5-16)\times 10^{-5}$ across the $m_{\tau^+\tau^-}$ range. We also set a 90% C.L. upper limit on the $\tau^+\tau^-$-decay of the $\eta_b$ at ${\mathcal{B}}(\eta_b\to \tau^+\tau^-)<8%$.

Searches for the baryon- and lepton-number violating decaysB0→Λc+l−,B−→Λl−, andB−→Λ¯l−
Searches for $B$ mesons decaying to final states containing a baryon and a lepton are performed, where the baryon is either $\Lambda_c$ or $\Lambda$ and the lepton is a muon or an electron. These decays violate both baryon and lepton number and would be a signature of physics beyond the standard model. No significant signal is observed in any of the decay modes, and upper limits in the range $(3.2-520) \times 10^{-8}$ are set on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level.
Measurement of branching fractions and rate asymmetries in the rare decays B -> K((*))l(+)l(-)
In a sample of 471 million BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- collider we study the rare decays B -> K(*) l+ l-, where l+ l- is either e+e- or mu+mu-. We report results on partial branching fractions and isospin asymmetries in seven bins of di-lepton mass-squared. We further present CP and lepton-flavor asymmetries for di-lepton masses below and above the J/psi resonance. We find no evidence for CP or lepton-flavor violation. The partial branching fractions and isospin asymmetries are consistent with the Standard Model predictions and with results from other experiments.

Study of the D0→K−μ+νμ Dynamics and Test of Lepton Flavor Universality with D0→K−ℓ+νℓ Decays
Using e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data of 2.93 fb^{-1} collected at center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fraction of D^{0}→K^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ} with significantly improved precision: B_{D^{0}→K^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ}}=(3.413±0.019_{stat}±0.035_{syst})%. Combining with our previous measurement of B_{D^{0}→K^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}}, the ratio of the two branching fractions is determined to be B_{D^{0}→K^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ}}/B_{D^{0}→K^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}}=0.974±0.007_{stat}±0.012_{syst}, which agrees with the theoretical expectation of lepton flavor universality within the uncertainty. Search for a light Higgs resonance in radiative decays of theϒ(1S)with a charm tag
A search is presented for the decay Υ(1S)→ γA^0, A^0 → cc[bar], where A^0 is a candidate for the CP-odd Higgs boson of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. The search is based on data collected with the BABAR detector at the Υ(2S) resonance. A sample of Υ(1S) mesons is selected via the decay Υ(2S)→π + π − Υ(1S). The A^0 → cc[bar] decay is identified through the reconstruction of hadronic D^0, D^+, and D^∗ (2010)^+ meson decays. No significant signal is observed. The measured 90% confidence-level upper limits on the product branching fraction B(Υ(1S) → γA^0 ) × B(A^0 → cc[bar] ) range from 7.4×10^(−5) to 2.4×10^(−3) for A^0 masses from 4.00 to 8.95 GeV/c^2 and 9.10 to 9.25 Ge…
Improved measurements of branching fractions for ηc→ϕϕ and ωϕ
Using (223.7 +/- 1.4) x 10(6) J / Psi events accumulated with the BESIII detector, we study eta(c) decays to phi phi and omega phi final states. The branching fraction of n(c) -> phi phi is measured to be Br(eta(c) -> phi phi) = (2.5 +/- 0(-0.7)(+0.3) +/- 0.6) X 10(-3,) where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is from the uncertainty of Br(J / Psi -> gamma eta(C)). No significant signal for the double Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka suppressed decay of eta(c) -> omega phi is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be Br(eta(c) -> omega phi) < 2.5 x 10(-4) at the 90% confidence level.
Measurement of branching fractions for ψ(3686)→γη′ , γη , and γπ0
Using a data sample of 448 x 10(6) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the decays psi(3686) -> gamma eta and psi(3686) -> gamma pi(0) are observed with a statistical significance of 7.3 sigma and 6.7 sigma, respectively. The branching fractions are measured to be B(psi(3686) -> gamma eta) = (0.85 +/- 0.18 +/- 0.05) x 10(-6) and B(psi(3686) ->gamma pi(0)) = (0.95 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.05) x 10(-6). In addition, we measure the branching fraction of psi(3686) -> gamma eta' to be B(psi(3686) -> gamma eta') = (125.1 +/- 2.2 +/- 6.2)x10(-6), which represents an improvement of precision over previous results.
Observation of a cross-section enhancement near mass threshold in e + e - → Λ Λ
The process e(+)e(-) -> Lambda(Lambda) over bar is studied using data samples at root s = 2.2324, 2.400, 2.800 and 3.080 GeV collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross section is measured at root s = 2.2324 GeV, which is 1.0 MeVabove the Lambda(Lambda) over bar mass threshold, to be 305 +/- 45(-36)(+66) pb, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The cross section near threshold is larger than that expected from theory, which predicts the cross section to vanish at threshold. The Born cross sections at root s = 2.400, 2.800 and 3.080 GeV are measured and found to be consistent with previous experimental results, but with…
Evidence for the decayX(3872)→J/ψω
We present a study of the decays B^(0,+)→J/ψπ^+π^-π^0K^(0,+), using 467×10^6 BB[overbar] pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. We present evidence for the decay mode X(3872)→J/ψω, with product branching fractions B(B^+→X(3872)K^+)×B(X(3872)→J/ψω)=[0.6±0.2(stat)±0.1(syst)]×10^(-5), and B(B^0→X(3872)K^0)×B(X(3872)→J/ψω)=[0.6±0.3(stat)±0.1(syst)]×10^(-5). A detailed study of the π^+π^-π^0 mass distribution from X(3872) decay favors a negative-parity assignment.

Search for Rare or Forbidden Decays of the D0 Meson
We present a search for nine lepton-number-violating and three lepton-flavor-violating neutral charm decays of the type D^{0}→h^{'-}h^{-}l^{'+}l^{+} and D^{0}→h^{'-}h^{+}l^{'±}l^{∓}, where h and h^{'} represent a K or π meson and l and l^{'} an electron or muon. The analysis is based on 468 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected at or close to the ϒ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. No significant signal is observed for any of the twelve modes, and we establish 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions in the range (1.0-30.6)×10^{-7}. The limits are between 1 and 3 orders of magnitude more stringent than previou…
Measurement of partial branching fractions of inclusive charmlessBmeson decays toK+,K0, andπ+
We present measurements of partial branching fractions of B→K+X, B→K0X, and B→π+X, where X denotes any accessible final state above the endpoint for B decays to charmed mesons, specifically for momenta of the candidate hadron greater than 2.34 (2.36) GeV for kaons (pions) in the B rest frame. These measurements are sensitive to potential new-physics particles which could enter the b→s(d) loop transitions. The analysis is performed on a data sample consisting of 383×106BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric energy collider. We observe the inclusive B→π+X process, and we set upper limits for B→K+X and B→K0X. Our results for these inclusive branching fractions…

We report a search for CP violation in the decay \tau- -> \pi - \K^0_S (>= 0 \pi 0) \nu_\tau\ using a dataset of 437 million \tau\ lepton pairs, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 476 fb^{-1}, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric energy e+e- storage rings. The CP-violating decay-rate asymmetry is determined to be (-0.45 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.11)%, approximately three standard deviations from the Standard Model prediction of (0.33 +/- 0.01)%.
Measurement of in oscillation using quantum correlations in at
We report a measurement of the parameter y(CP) in D-0-(D) over bar (0) oscillations performed by taking advantage of quantum coherence between pairs of D-0(D) over bar (0) mesons produced in e(+)e(-) annihilations near threshold. In this work, doubly-tagged D-0(D) over bar (0) events, where one D decays to a CP eigenstate and the other D decays in a semileptonic mode, are reconstructed using a data sample of 2.92 fb(-1) collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of root s = 3.773 GeV. We obtain y(CP) = (-2.0 +/- 1.3 +/- 0.7)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is compatible with the current world average.
Measurements of branching fractions andCPasymmetries and studies of angular distributions forB→ϕϕKdecays
We present branching fraction and CP asymmetry measurements as well as angular studies of B to phi phi K decays using 464 x 10^6 BBbar events collected by the BaBar experiment. The branching fractions are measured in the phi phi invariant mass range below the eta_c resonance (m_phiphi <2.85 GeV). We find B(B+ to phi phi K+) = (5.6 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.3) x 10^-6 and B(B0 to phi phi K0) = (4.5 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.3) x 10^-6, where the first uncertaintiy is statistical and the second systematic. The measured direct CP asymmetries for the B+- decays are A_CP = -0.10 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.02 below the eta_c threshold and A_CP = 0.09 +/- 0.10 +?- 0.02 in the eta_c resonance region (m_phiphi in [2.94,3.02] GeV). Precise Measurement of the e+e−→π+π−J/ψ Cross Section at Center-of-Mass Energies from 3.77 to 4.60 GeV
The cross section for the process e(+)e(-)-> pi(+) pi(-) J/psi is measured precisely at center-of-mass energies from 3.77 to 4.60 GeV using 9 fb(-1) of data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Two resonant structures are observed in a fit to the cross section. The first resonance has a mass of (222.0 +/- 3.1 +/- 1.4) MeV/ c(2) and a width of (44.1 +/- 4.3 +/- 2.0)MeV, while the second one has a mass of (4320.0 +/- 10.4 +/- 7.0)MeV/c(2) and a width of (101.4(- 19.7)(+25.3) +/- 10.2) MeV, where the first errors are statistical and second ones are systematic. The first resonance agrees with the Y(4260) resonance reported by previous experiments. The precisi…

The photon spectrum in the inclusive electromagnetic radiative decays of the B meson, B → X_sγ plus B → X_dγ, is studied using a data sample of (382.8±4.2)×10^6Υ(4S) → BB decays collected by the BABAR experiment at SLAC. The spectrum is used to extract the branching fraction B(B → X_sγ)=(3.21±0.33)×10^(-4) for E_γ > 1.8 GeV and the direct CP asymmetry A_(CP)(B → X_(s+d)γ)=0.057±0.063. The effects of detector resolution and Doppler smearing are unfolded to measure the photon energy spectrum in the B meson rest frame.

We present the first search for the rare decay of eta' into K-+/- pi(-/+) in J/psi -> phi eta', using a sample of 1.3 x 10(9) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit at the 90% confidence level for the ratio B(eta' -> K-+/- pi(-/+))/B(eta' -> gamma pi(+/-) pi(-/+)) is determined to be 1.3 x 10(-4). In addition, we report the measurement of the branching fraction of J/psi -> phi eta' to be [5.10 +/- 0.03(stat) +/- 0.32(syst)] x 10(-4), which agrees with previous results from BESII.
Precise Measurement of thee+e−→π+π−(γ)Cross Section with the Initial State Radiation Method atBABAR
A precise measurement of the cross section for the process e^+e^- → K^+K^-(γ) from threshold to an energy of 5 GeV is obtained with the initial-state radiation (ISR) method using 232 fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at e^+e^- center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV. The measurement uses the effective ISR luminosity determined from the e^+e^- → μ^+μ^-(γ)γ_(ISR) process with the same data set. The corresponding lowest-order contribution to the hadronic vacuum polarization term in the muon magnetic anomaly is found to be a_μ^(KK,LO)=(22.93 ± 0.18_(stat) ± 0.22_(syst))×10^(-10). The charged kaon form factor is extracted and compared to previous results. Its magnitude at large en…
Study ofB¯→Xuℓν¯decays inBB¯events tagged by a fully reconstructedB-meson decay and determination of|Vub|
We report measurements of partial branching fractions for inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays Bbar --> Xu l nubar, and the determination of the CKM matrix element |V_{ub}|. The analysis is based on a sample of 467 million Upsilon(4S) --> BBar decays recorded with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II e^+ e^- storage rings. We select events in which the decay of one of the B mesons is fully reconstructed and an electron or a muon signals the semileptonic decay of the other B meson. We measure partial branching fractions DeltaB in several restricted regions of phase space and determine the CKM element |V_{ub}| based on four different QCD predictions. For decays with a charged lepton momentum…

Observation of ψ(3686)→η′e+e−
Abstract Using a data sample of 448.1 × 10 6 ψ ( 3686 ) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the first observation of the electromagnetic Dalitz decay ψ ( 3686 ) → η ′ e + e − , with significances of 7.0σ and 6.3σ when reconstructing the η ′ meson via its decay modes η ′ → γ π + π − and η ′ → π + π − η ( η → γ γ ), respectively. The weighted average branching fraction is determined to be B ( ψ ( 3686 ) → η ′ e + e − ) = ( 1.90 ± 0.25 ± 0.11 ) × 10 − 6 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
Search for Invisible Decays of theΥ(1S)
We search for invisible decays of the Upsilon(1S) meson using a sample of 91.4 x 10(6) Upsilon(3S) mesons collected at the BABAR/PEP-II B factory. We select events containing the decay Upsilon(3S) --> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(1S) and search for evidence of an undetectable Upsilon(1S) decay recoiling against the dipion system. We set an upper limit on the branching fraction B(Upsilon(1S) --> invisible) < 3.0 x 10(-4) at the 90% confidence level.
Dalitz plot analysis ofηc→K+K−ηandηc→K+K−π0in two-photon interactions
We study the processes γγ→K+K−η and γγ→K+K−π0 using a data sample of 519 fb−1 recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e− collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the Υ(nS) (n=2,3,4) resonances. We observe ηc→K+K−π0 and ηc→K+K−η decays, measure their relative branching fraction, and perform a Dalitz plot analysis for each decay. We observe the K∗0(1430)→Kη decay and measure its branching fraction relative to the Kπ decay mode to be R(K∗0(1430))=B(K∗0(1430)→Kη)B(K∗0(1430)→Kπ)=0.092±0.025+0.010−0.025. The ηc→K+K−η and K∗0(1430)→Kη results correspond to the first observations of these channels. The data also show evidence for ηc(2S)→K+K−π0 and f…
Cross sections for the reactionse+e−→K+K−π+π−,K+K−π0π0, andK+K−K+K−measured using initial-state radiation events
We study the processes e^+e^- → K^+K^-π^+π^-γ, K^+K^-π^0π^0 γ, and K^+K^-K^+K^- γ, where the photon is radiated from the initial state. About 84 000, 8000, and 4200 fully reconstructed events, respectively, are selected from 454 fb^(-1) of BABAR data. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state defines the e+e- center-of-mass energy, so that the K^+K^-π^+π^- γ data can be compared with direct measurements of the e^+e^- → K^+K^-π^+π^- reaction. No direct measurements exist for the e^+e^- → K^+K^-π^0π^0 or e^+e^- → K^+K^-K^+K^- reactions, and we present an update of our previous result based on a data sample that is twice as large. Studying the structure of these events, we find contribut…
Measurements of directCPasymmetries inB→Xsγdecays using sum of exclusive decays
We measure the direct CP violation asymmetry, A_(CP), in B→X_sγ and the isospin difference of the asymmetry, ΔA_(CP), using 429 fb^(−1) of data collected at Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^− storage rings operating at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. B mesons are reconstructed from ten charged B final states and six neutral B final states. We find A_(CP)=+(1.7±1.9±1.0)%, which is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and provides an improvement on the world average. Moreover, we report the first measurement of the difference between A_(CP) for charged and neutral decay modes, ΔA_(CP)=+(5.0±3.9±1.5)%. Using the value of ΔA_(CP)…

We present results for B-meson decay modes involving a charm meson, protons, and pions using 455×106 BB pairs recorded by the BaBar detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider. The branching fractions are measured for the following ten decays: B ^0→D^0pp, B^0→D^(*0)pp, B^0→D^(*+)ppπ^-, B^0→D^(*+)ppπ^-, B-→D0ppπ^-, B-→D^(*0)ppπ^-, B^0→D^0pp π^-π^+, B^0→D^(*0)pp π^-π^+, B^-→D^+pp π^-π^-, and B^-→D^(*+)pp π^-π^-. The four B^- and the two five-body B^0 modes are observed for the first time. The four-body modes are enhanced compared to the three- and the five-body modes. In the three-body modes, the M(pp) and M(D^((*)0)p) invariant-mass distributions show enhancements near thre…
Observation ofη′→ωe+e−
Based on a sample of eta' mesons produced in the radiative decay J/psi -> gamma eta' in 1.31 x 10(9) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector, the decay eta' -> omega e(+)e(-) is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance of 8 sigma. The branching fraction is measured to be B(eta' -> omega e(+)e(-)) = (1.97 +/- 0.34(stat) +/- 0.17(syst)) x 10(-4), which is in agreement with theoretical predictions. The branching fraction of eta' -> omega gamma is also measured to be (2.55 +/- 0.03(stat) +/- 0.16(syst)) x 10(-2), which is the most precise measurement to date, and the relative branching fraction B(eta' -> omega e(+)e(-))/B(eta' -> omega gamma) is determined to be (7.7…
Observation of a00(980)−f0(980) Mixing
We report the first observation of a(0)(0)(980)-f(0)(980) mixing in the decays of J/psi -> phi f(0)(980) -> phi a(0)(0)(980) -> phi eta pi(0) and chi(c1) -> a(0)(0)(980)pi(0) -> f(0)(980)pi(0)->pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), using data samples of 1.31 x 10(9) J/psi events and 4.48 x 10(8) psi (3686) events accumulated with the BESIII detector. The signals of f(0)(980) -> a(0)(0)(980) and a(0)(0)(980) -> f(0)(980) mixing are observed at levels of statistical significance of 7.4 sigma and 5.5 sigma, respectively. The corresponding branching fractions and mixing intensities are measured and the constraint regions on the coupling constants, g(a0K+K-) and g(f0K+K-), are estimated. The results improve the unde…
Search for the rare decayB→Kνν¯
We present a search for the rare decays B+→K+νν and B0→K0νν using 459×106 BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Flavor-changing neutral-current decays such as these are forbidden at tree level but can occur through one-loop diagrams in the standard model (SM), with possible contributions from new physics at the same order. The presence of two neutrinos in the final state makes identification of signal events challenging, so reconstruction in the semileptonic decay channels B→D(*)lν of the B meson recoiling from the signal B is used to suppress backgrounds. We set an upper limit at the 90% confidence level (CL) of 1.3×10-5 on the total branch…
Observation of theχc2(2P)meson in the reactionγγ→DD¯atBABAR
A search for the Z(3930) resonance in gamma gamma production of the DDbar system has been performed using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 384 fb^-1 recorded by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider. The DDbar invariant mass distribution shows clear evidence of the Z(3930) state with a significance of 5.8 sigma. We determine mass and width values of (3926.7 +- 2.7 +- 1.1) MeV/c^2 and (21.3 +- 6.8 +- 3.6) MeV, respectively. A decay angular analysis provides evidence that the Z(3930) is a tensor state with positive parity and C-parity (J^PC = 2^++); therefore we identify the Z(3930) state as the chi_c2(2P) meson. The value of…

We measure the branching fraction for the τ-→ηK-ντ decay mode, B(τ-→ηK-ντ)=(1.42±0.11(stat)±0.07(syst))×10-4, and report a 95% confidence level upper limit for the second-class current process τ-→ηπ-ντ, B(τ-→ηπ-ντ)<9.9×10-5.

We report the measurement of the baryonic B decay B- -> SigmaC++ p- pi- pi-. Using a data sample of 467*10^6 B B-bar pairs collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II storage ring at SLAC, the measured branching fraction is (2.98 +/- 0.16 (stat) +/- 0.15 (syst) +/- 0.77 (LambdaC+))*10^{-4}, where the last error is due to the uncertainty in the branching fraction of the decay LambdaC+ -> p+ K- pi+. The data suggest the existence of resonant subchannels B- -> LambdaC(2595)+ p- pi- and, possibly, B- -> SigmaC++ anti-Delta-- pi-. We see unexplained structures in m(SigmaC++ pi- pi-) at 3.25 GeV/c^2, 3.8 GeV/c^2, and 4.2 GeV/c^2.

The integrated CP-violating decay rate asymmetry A_(CP) is determined to be (0.37±0.30±0.15)%. Model-independent and model-dependent Dalitz plot analysis techniques are used to search for CP-violating asymmetries in the various intermediate states. We find no evidence for CP-violation asymmetry.

The data samples contain ( 471 +/- 3 ) x 10^6 BB pairs recorded by the BaBar detector and ( 772 +/- 11 ) x 10^6, BB pairs recorded by the Belle detector. We measure the CP asymmetry parameters -eta_f S = +0.66 +/- 0.10 (stat.) +/- 0.06 (syst.) an…

Study ofψdecays to theΞ−Ξ¯+andΣ(1385)∓Σ¯(1385)±final states
We study the decays of the charmonium resonances J/psi and psi(3686) to the final states Xi(-)(Xi) over bar (+), S(1385)(-/+)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(+/-) based on a single baryon tag method using data samples of (223.7 +/- 1.4) x 10(6) J/psi and (106.4 +/- 0.9) x 10(6) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decay psi(3686) -> Sigma(1385)(-/+)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(+/-) is observed for the first time, and the measurements of the other processes, including the branching fractions and angular distributions, are in good agreement with, and much more precise than, the previously published results. Additionally, the ratios B(psi(3686)->Xi(-)(Xi) over bar …
Search forCPviolation usingT-odd correlations inD+→K+KS0π+π−andDs+→K+KS0π+π−decays
We search for CP violation in a sample of 20,000 Cabibbo-suppressed decays, $D^+\rightarrow K^+K^0_S\pi^+\pi^-$, and 30,000 Cabibbo-favored decays, $D_s^+\rightarrow K^+K^0_S\pi^+\pi^-$. We search for CP violation in the difference between the $T$-odd asymmetries obtained using triple product correlations of the $D^+$ ($D_s^+$) and $D^-$ ($D_s^-$) decays, respectively. The $T$ violation parameter values obtained are $\mathcal{A}_T(D^+) = (-12.0 \pm 10.0_{stat} \pm 4.6_{syst})\times 10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{A}_T(D_s^+) = (-13.6 \pm …

Measurement of an excess ofB¯→D(*)τ−ν¯τdecays and implications for charged Higgs bosons
The concept for this analysis is to a large degree based on earlier BABAR work and we acknowledge the guidance provided by M. Mazur. The authors consulted with theorists A. Datta, S. Westhoff, S. Fajfer, J. Kamenik, and I. Nisandzic on the calculations of the charged Higgs contributions to the decay rates. We are grateful for the extraordinary contributions of our PEP-II colleagues in achieving the excellent luminosity and machine conditions that have made this work possible. The success of this project also relied critically on the expertise and dedication of the computing organizations that support BABAR. The collaborating institutions wish to thank SLAC for its support and the kind hospi…

Summing the 10 neutral modes and the 12 charged modes, the branching fractions are found to be {Beta}(B{sup 0} {yields} {bar D}{sup (*)}D{sup (*)}K) = (3.68 {+-} 0.10 {+-} 0.24)% and {Beta}(B{sup +} {yields} {bar D}{sup (*)}D{sup (*)}K) = (4.05 {+-} 0.11 {+-} 0.28)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are based on 429 fb{sup -1} of data containing 471 x 10{sup 6} B{bar B} pairs collected at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance…

Search for the rare decaysB→πℓ+ℓ−andB0→ηℓ+ℓ−
We present the results of a search for the rare flavor-changing neutral-current decays B → πl^+ l^- (π = π^±, π^0 and l = e, μ) and B^0 → ηl^+ l^- using a sample of e^+ e^- → Υ(4S) → BB decays corresponding to 428 fb^(-1) of integrated luminosity collected by the BABAR detector. No significant signal is observed, and we set an upper limit on the isospin and lepton-flavor averaged branching fraction of B(B → πl^+ l^-)<5.9 × 10^(-8) and a lepton-flavor averaged upper limit of B(B0 → ηl^+ l^-) < 6.4 × 10^(-8), both at the 90% confidence level. We also report 90% confidence level branching fraction upper limits for the individual modes B^+ → π^+ e^+ e^-, B^0 → π^0 e^+ e^-, B^+ → π^+ μ^+ μ^-, B…
Observation of inclusiveD*±production in the decay ofΥ(1S)
We present a study of the inclusive D*(+/-) production in the decay of Y(1S) using (98.6 +/- 0.9) X 10(6) Y(2S) mesons collected with the BABAR detector at the Y(2S) resonance. Using the decay chain Y(2S) -> pi(+)pi Y-(1S), Y(1S) -> D*X-+/-, where X is unobserved, we measure the branching fraction B[Y(1S) -> D*X-+/-] = (2.52 +/- 0.13(stat) +/- 0.15(syst)% and the D*(+/-) momentum distribution in the rest frame of the Y(1S). We find evidence for an excess of D*+/- production over the expected rate from the virtual photon annihilation process Y(1S) -> gamma* -> c (c) over bar -> D*X-+/-.
Observation ofηc(1S)andηc(2S)decays toK+K−π+π−π0in two-photon interactions
We study the processes γγ→K_S^0K^±π^∓ and γγ→K^+K^-π^+π-π^0 using a data sample of 519.2fb^(-1) recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider at center-of-mass energies near the Υ(nS) (n=2, 3, 4) resonances. We observe the η_c(1S), χ_(c0)(1P) and η_c(2S) resonances produced in two-photon interactions and decaying to K^+K^-π^+π^-π^0, with significances of 18.1, 5.4 and 5.3 standard deviations (including systematic errors), respectively, and report 4.0σ evidence of the χ_(c2)(1P) decay to this final state. We measure the η_c(2S) mass and width in K_S^0K^±π^∓ decays, and obtain the values m(η_c(2S))=3638.5±1.5±0.8 MeV/c^2 and Γ(η_c(2S))=13.4±4.6±3.2 MeV, wher…
Branching fraction measurement ofB+→ωℓ+νdecays
We present a measurement of the B^+ → ωl^+ν branching fraction based on a sample of 467 million BB pairs recorded by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e+e- collider. We observe 1125±131 signal decays, corresponding to a branching fraction of B(B^+ → ωl^+ν)=(1.21±0.14±0.08)×10^(-4), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The dependence of the decay rate on q^2, the invariant mass squared of the leptons, is compared to QCD predictions of the form factors based on a quark model and light-cone sum rules.

We present an analysis of the decays B-0 -> K-*0(892)gamma and B+-> K*+(892)gamma using a sample of about 383x10(6) BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric energy B factory. We constrain the direct CP asymmetry to be -0.033 K-*gamma)< 0.028 and the isospin asymmetry to be 0.017 <Delta(0-)< 0.116, where the limits are determined by the 90% confidence interval and include both the statistical and systematic uncertainties.
Measurements of absolute branching fractions forΛc+→Ξ0K+and Ξ(1530)0K+
Abstract We report the first measurements of absolute branching fractions for the W -exchange-only processes Λ c + → Ξ 0 K + and Λ c + → Ξ ( 1530 ) 0 K + with the double-tag technique, by analyzing an e + e − collision data sample, that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 567 pb −1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4.6 GeV by the BESIII detector. The branching fractions are measured to be B ( Λ c + → Ξ 0 K + ) = ( 5.90 ± 0.86 ± 0.39 ) × 10 − 3 and B ( Λ c + → Ξ ( 1530 ) 0 K + ) = ( 5.02 ± 0.99 ± 0.31 ) × 10 − 3 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Our results are more precise than the previous relative measurements.
Search for the decayB¯0→Λc+p¯pp¯
We report a search for the decay B^0 → Λ^+_cppp. Using a data sample of 471×10^6 BB pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II2 storage ring at SLAC, we find no events and set an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B^0 → Λ^+_cppp)×^(B(Λ^+_c→pK^−π^+))_(0.050) <2.8×10^(−6) at 90% C.L., where we have normalized B(Λ^+_c → pK^−π^+) to the world average value.
Measurement of the branching fractions of Ds+→η′X and Ds+→η′ρ+ in e+e−→Ds+Ds−
We study D-s(+) decays to final states involving the eta' with a 482 pb(-1) data sample collected at root s = 4.009 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. We measure the branching fractions B(D-s(+) -> eta'X) = (8.8 +/- 1.8 +/- 0.5)% and B(D-s(+) > eta'rho(+)) = (5.8 +/- 1.4 +/- 0.4)% where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, we estimate an upper limit on the non-resonant branching ratio B(D-s(+) -> eta'pi(+)pi(0)) eta'rho(+)). (C) 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
Search forB→K(*)νν¯and invisible quarkonium decays
We search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decays B→K^(*)νν, and the invisible decays J/ψ→νν and ψ(2S)→νν via B→K^(*)J/ψ and B→K^(*)ψ(2S), respectively, using a data sample of 471×10^6 BB pairs collected by the BABAR experiment. We fully reconstruct the hadronic decay of one of the B mesons in the Υ(4S)→BB decay, and search for the B→K^(*)νν decay in the rest of the event. We observe no significant excess of signal decays over background and report branching fraction upper limits of B(B^+→K^+νν)<3.7×10^(-5), B(B^0→K^0νν)<8.1×10^(-5), B(B^+→K^(*+)νν)<11.6×10^(-5), B(B^0→K^(*0)νν)<9.3×10^(-5), and combined upper limits of B(B→Kνν)<3.2×10-5 and B(B→K^*νν)<7.9×10^(-5), all at the 90% con…
Production of charged pions, kaons, and protons ine+e−annihilations into hadrons ats=10.54 GeV
Inclusive production cross sections of π^±, K^± and p/p per hadronic e^+e^- annihilation event are measured at a center-of-mass energy of 10.54 GeV, using a relatively small sample of very high quality data from the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II B-factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The drift chamber and Cherenkov detector provide clean samples of identified π^±, K^±, and p/p over a wide range of momenta. Since the center-of-mass energy is below the threshold to produce a BB pair, with B a bottom-quark meson, these data represent a pure e^+e^-→qq sample with four quark flavors, and are used to test QCD predictions and hadronization models. Combined with measurements at oth…
Measurement of thee+e−→ηJ/ψcross section and search fore+e−→π0J/ψat center-of-mass energies between 3.810 and 4.600 GeV
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider at 17 center-of-mass energies from 3.810 to 4.600 GeV, we perform a study of e(+)e(-) -> eta J/psi and pi(0)J/psi The Born cross sections of these two processes are measured at each center-of-mass energy. The measured energy-dependent Born cross section for e(+)e(-) -> eta J/psi shows an enhancement around 4.2 GeV. The measurement is compatible with an earlier measurement by Belle.
Measurement of theDs+→ℓ+νℓbranching fractions and the decay constantfDs+
Using 482 pb(-1) of e(+) e(-) collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 4.009 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fractions of the decays D-s(+) -> u(+)v(u) and D-s(+) -> tau(+)v(tau). By constraining the ratio of decay rates of Ds(+) to tau(+)v(u) and to u(+)v(u) to the Standard Model prediction, the branching fractions are determined to be B(D-s(+) -> u(+)v(u) = (0.495 +/- 0.067 +/- 0.026)% and B(D-s(+) -> tau(+)v(tau) = (4.83 +/- 0.65 +/- 0.26)% Using these branching fractions, we obtain a value for the decay constant f(Ds+) of (241.0 +/- 16.3 +/- 6.5) MeV, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic.
Observation ofe+e−→γX(3872)at BESIII
Using data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider at center-of-mass energies of root s = 4.23, 4.26, and 4.36 GeV, we observe e(+)e(-) -> pi(0)pi(0)h(c) for the first time. The Born cross sections are measured and found to be about half of those of e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)h(c) within less than 2 sigma. In the pi(0)h(c) mass spectrum, a structure at 4.02 GeV/c(2) is found. It is most likely to be the neutral isospin partner of the Z(c)(4020)(+/-) observed in the process of e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)h(c) being found. A fit to the pi(0)h(c) invariant mass spectrum, with the width of the Z(c)(4020)(0) fixed to that of its charged isospin partner and pos…
Amplitude analysis ofB0→K+π−π0and evidence of directCPviolation inB→K*πdecays
We analyze the decay B0-->K+ pi- pi0 with a sample of 454 million B Bbar events collected by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC, and extract the complex amplitudes of seven interfering resonances over the Dalitz plot. These results are combined with amplitudes measured in B0-->K_S pi+ pi- decays to construct isospin amplitudes from B0-->K* pi and B0-->rho K decays. We measure the phase of the isospin amplitude Phi_3/2, useful in constraining the CKM unitarity triangle angle gamma and evaluate a CP rate asymmetry sum rule sensitive to the presence of new physics operators. We measure direct CP violation in B0-->K*+ pi- decays at the level of 3 sigma when mea…
Observation and polarization measurement ofB0→a1(1260)+a1(1260)−decay
We present measurements of the branching fraction B and longitudinal polarization fraction fL for B0→a1(1260)+a1(1260)- decays, with a1(1260)±→π-π+π±. The data sample, collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, represents 465×106 produced BB pairs. We measure B(B0→a1(1260)+a1(1260)-)×[B(a1(1260)+→π-π+π+)]2= (11.8±2.6±1.6)×10-6 and fL=0.31±0.22±0.10, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The decay mode is measured with a significance of 5.0 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties.
Time-integrated luminosity recorded by the BABARdetector at the PEP-IIe+e- collider
We describe a measurement of the time-integrated luminosity of the data collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider at the ϒ(4S), ϒ(3S), and ϒ(2S) resonances and in a continuum region below each resonance. We measure the time-integrated luminosity by counting e^+e^-→e^+e^- and (for the ϒ(4S) only) e^+e^-→μ^+μ^- candidate events, allowing additional photons in the final state. We use data-corrected simulation to determine the cross-sections and reconstruction efficiencies for these processes, as well as the major backgrounds. Due to the large cross-sections of e^+e^-→e^+e^- and e^+e^-→μ^+μ^-, the statistical uncertainties of the measurement are substanti…
Observation of an Anomalous Line Shape of theη′π+π−Mass Spectrum near thepp¯Mass Threshold inJ/ψ→γη′π+π−
Using 1.09 x 10(9) J/psi events collected by the BESIII experiment in 2012, we study the J / psi -> gamma eta'pi(+)pi(-) process and observe a significant abrupt change in the slope of the eta'pi(+)pi(-) invariant mass distribution at the proton-antiproton (p (p) over bar) mass threshold. We use two models to characterize the eta'pi(+)pi(-) line shape around 1.85 GeV/c(2): one that explicitly incorporates the opening of a decay threshold in the mass spectrum (Flatte formula), and another that is the coherent sum of two resonant amplitudes. Both fits show almost equally good agreement with data, and suggest the existence of either a broad state around 1.85 GeV/c(2) with strong couplings to t…

By analyzing 482 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected at root s = 4.009 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the absolute branching fractions for the semileptonic decays D-s(+) -> eta e(+)nu(e) and D-s(+) -> eta ' e(+)nu(e) to be B(D-s(+) -> eta e(+)nu(e)) = (2.30 +/- 0.31 +/- 0.08)% and B(D-s(+) -> eta ' e(+)nu(e)) = (0.93 +/- 0.30 +/- 0.05)%, respectively, and their ratio B(D-s(+) -> eta ' e(+)nu(e)) / B(D-s(+) -> eta ' e(+)nu(e)) = 0.40 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.02, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The results are in good agreement with previous measurements within uncertainties; they can be used to determine the eta…
Search for the decay modesB±→h±τℓ
We present a search for the lepton flavor violating decay modes B{sup {+-}} {yields} h{sup {+-}} {tau}{ell} (h = K, {pi}; {ell} = e, {mu}) using the BABAR data sample, which corresponds to 472 million B{bar B} pairs. The search uses events where one B meson is fully reconstructed in one of several hadronic final states. Using the momenta of the reconstructed B, h, and {ell} candidates, we are able to fully determine the {tau} four-momentum. The resulting {tau} candidate mass is our main discriminant against combinatorial background. We see no evidence for B{sup {+-}} {yields} h{sup {+-}} {tau}{ell} decays and set a 90% confidence level upper limit on each branching fraction at the level of …

Using data samples collected at center-of-mass energies of root s = 4.009, 4.226, 4.257, 4.358, 4.416, and 4.599 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the isospin violating decay Y(4260)-> J/psi eta pi(0). No signal is observed, and upper limits on the cross section sigma(e(+)e(-) -> J/psi eta pi(0)) at the 90% confidence level are determined to be 3.6, 1.7, 2.4, 1.4, 0.9, and 1.9 pb, respectively.

Observation of the Dalitz decayη′→γe+e−
We report the first observation of the Dalitz decay eta' -> gamma e(+)e(-), based on a data sample of 1.31 billion J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector. The eta' mesons are produced via the J/psi -> gamma eta' decay process. The ratio (eta' -> gamma e(+)e(-))/Gamma (eta' -> gamma gamma) is measured to be (2.13 +/- 0.09(stat) +/- 0.07(sys)) x 10(-2). This corresponds to a branching fraction B(eta' -> gamma e(+)e(-)) = (4.69 +/- 0.20(stat) +/- 0.23(sys)) x 10(-4). The transition form factor is extracted and different expressions are compared to the measured dependence on the e(+)e(-) invariant mass. The results are consistent with the prediction of the vector meson dominance model.
Observation of pseudoscalar and tensor resonances in J /ψ →γφφ
Based on a sample of (1310.6 +/- 10.5) x 10(6) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, a partial wave analysis of the decay J/psi -> gamma phi phi is performed in order to study the intermediate states. Results of the partial wave analysis show that the structures are predominantly 0(-+) states. The existence of the eta(2225) is confirmed, and its resonance parameters are measured. Two additional pseudoscalar states, the eta(2100) with a mass of 2050(-24-26)(+30+75) MeV/c(2) and a width of 250(-30-164)(+36+181) MeV/c(2) and the X(2500) with a mass of 2470(-19-23)(+15+101) MeV/c(2) and a width of 230(-35-33)(+64+56) MeV/c(2), are observed. Study ofX(3915)→J/ψωin two-photon collisions
We study the process $\gamma \gamma \to J/\psi \omega$ using a data sample of 519.2 $fb^{-1}$ recorded by the BaBar detector at SLAC at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider at center-of-mass energies near the $\Upsilon(nS)$ ($n = 2,3,4$) resonances. We confirm the existence of the charmonium-like resonance X(3915) decaying to $J/\psi \omega$ with a significance of 7.6 standard deviations, including systematic uncertainties, and measure its mass $(3919.4 \pm 2.2 \pm 1.6) MeV/c^2$ and width $(13 \pm 6 \pm 3) MeV$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. A spin-parity analysis supports the assignment $J^P=0^+$ and therefore the ident ification of the si…
Branching fraction and form-factor shape measurements of exclusive charmless semileptonicBdecays, and determination of|Vub|
We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B0→π-l+ν, B+→π0l+ν, B+→ωl+ν, B+→ηl+ν, and B+→η′l+ν (l=e or μ) undertaken with approximately 462×106 BB pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in several bins of q2, the square of the momentum transferred to the lepton-neutrino pair, for B0→π-l+ν, B+→π0l+ν, B+→ωl+ν, and B+→ηl+ν. From these distributions, we extract the form-factor shapes f+(q2) and the total branching fractions B(B0→π-l+ν)=(1.45±0.04stat±0.06syst)×10-4 (combined π- …
Measurement of the branching fraction andΛ¯polarization inB0→Λ¯pπ−
We present a measurement of the B0 --> Lambda-bar p pi- branching fraction performed using the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric e+e- collider. Based on a sample of 467 million BB-bar pairs we measure B(B0 --> Lambda-bar p pi-) = [3.07 pm 0.31 (stat.) pm 0.23 (syst.)] x 10^{-6}. The measured differential spectrum as a function of the dibaryon invariant mass m(Lambda p) shows a near-threshold enhancement similar to that observed in other baryonic B decays. We study the Lambda-bar polarization as a function of Lambda-bar energy in the B0 rest frame (E*_Lambda) and compare it with theoretical expectations of fully longitudinally right-polarized Lambda-bar at large E*_Lambda.
Study ofCPAsymmetry inB0−B¯0Mixing with Inclusive Dilepton Events
We present a measurement of the asymmetry A_{CP} between same-sign inclusive dilepton samples l^{+}l^{+} and l^{-}l^{-} (l=e, μ) from semileptonic B decays in ϒ(4S)→BB[over ¯] events, using the complete data set recorded by the BABAR experiment near the ϒ(4S) resonance, corresponding to 471×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs. The asymmetry A_{CP} allows comparison between the mixing probabilities P(B[over ¯]^{0}→B^{0}) and P(B^{0}→B[over ¯]^{0}), and therefore probes CP and T violation. The result, A_{CP}=[-3.9±3.5(stat)±1.9(syst)]×10^{-3}, is consistent with the standard model expectation.
Search for Invisible Decays of a Dark Photon Produced in e+e− Collisions at BaBar
We search for single-photon events in 53 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B-Factory. We look for events with a single high-energy photon and a large missing momentum and energy, consistent with production of a spin-1 particle A^{'} through the process e^{+}e^{-}→γA^{'}; A^{'}→invisible. Such particles, referred to as "dark photons," are motivated by theories applying a U(1) gauge symmetry to dark matter. We find no evidence for such processes and set 90% confidence level upper limits on the coupling strength of A^{'} to e^{+}e^{-} in the mass range m_{A^{'}}≤8 GeV. In particular, our limits exclude the values of the A^{'} coupling sugges…
Study of J/ψ and ψ(3686) decays to π+π−η′
Using the data samples of 1.31 x 10(9) J/psi events and 4.48 x 10(8) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, partial wave analyses on the decays J/psi and psi(3686) pthornp -> pi(+)pi(-)eta' are performed with a relativistic covariant tensor amplitude approach. The dominant contribution is found to be J/psi and psi(3686) decays to rho eta' In the J/psi decay, the branching fraction B(J/psi -> rho eta') is determined to be (7.90 +/- 0.19(stat) +/- 0.49(sys)) x 10(-5). Two solutions are found in the psi(3686) decay, and the corresponding branching fraction B(psi(3686) -> rho eta') is (1.02 +/- 0.11(stat) +/- 0.24(sys)) x 10(-5) for the case of destructive interference, and (5.69 …

We report on measurements of the decays of B¯ mesons into the semileptonic final states B¯→D^(*)π^(+)π^(-)l^(-)ν¯, where D^(*) represents a D or D^(*) meson and l^(-) is an electron or a muon. These measurements are based on 471×10^(6) BB ¯ pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the SLAC asymmetric B factory PEP-II. We determine the branching fraction ratios R_{π^{+}π^{-}}^{(*)}=B(B[over ¯]→D^{(*)}π^{+}π^{-}l^{-}ν[over ¯])/B(B[over ¯]→D^{(*)}l^{-}ν[over ¯]) using events in which the second B meson is fully reconstructed. We find R_{π^{+}π^{-}}=0.067±0.010±0.008 and R_{π^{+}π^{-}}^{*}=0.019±0.005±0.004, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Based on thes…
Measurements of the branching fractions for D+→KS0KS0K+, KS0KS0π+ and D0→KS0KS0, KS0KS0KS0
Abstract By analyzing 2.93 fb − 1 of data taken at the ψ ( 3770 ) resonance peak with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fractions for the hadronic decays D + → K S 0 K S 0 K + , D + → K S 0 K S 0 π + , D 0 → K S 0 K S 0 and D 0 → K S 0 K S 0 K S 0 . They are determined to be B ( D + → K S 0 K S 0 K + ) = ( 2.54 ± 0.05 s t a t . ± 0.12 s y s . ) × 10 − 3 , B ( D + → K S 0 K S 0 π + ) = ( 2.70 ± 0.05 s t a t . ± 0.12 s y s . ) × 10 − 3 , B ( D 0 → K S 0 K S 0 ) = ( 1.67 ± 0.11 s t a t . ± 0.11 s y s . ) × 10 − 4 and B ( D 0 → K S 0 K S 0 K S 0 ) = ( 7.21 ± 0.33 s t a t . ± 0.44 s y s . ) × 10 − 4 , where the second one is measured for the first time and the others are measured wit…
Study of decay dynamics andCPasymmetry inD+→KL0e+νedecay
Using 2.92 fb(-1) of electron-positron annihilation data collected at root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we obtain the first measurements of the absolute branching fraction B(D+ -> K(L)(0)e(+)nu(e)) = (4.481 +/- 0.027(stat) +/- 0.103(sys))% and the CP asymmetry A(CP)(D+-> KL0e+nu e) = (-0.59 +/- 0.60(stat) +/- 1.48(sys))%. From the D+ -> K(L)(0)e(+)nu(e) differential decay rate distribution, the product of the hadronic form factor and the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element, f(+)(K)(0)vertical bar V-cs vertical bar, is determined to be 0.728 +/- 0.006(stat) +/- 0.011(sys). Using vertical bar V-cs vertical bar from the SM constrained fit with the measured f(+)…
Search for lepton-number violating processes inB+→h−l+l+decays
We have searched for the lepton-number violating processes B +→h -- +- + with h -=K -/π - and - +=e +/μ +, using a sample of 471±3 million BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e +e - collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find no evidence for these decays and place 90%-confidence-level upper limits on their branching fractions B(B +→π -e +e +)<2.3×10 -8, B(B +→K -e +e +)<3.0×10 -8, B(B +→π -μ +μ +)<10. 7×10 -8, and B(B +→K -μ +μ +)<6.7×10 -8. © 2012 American Physical Society.
Measurement of theγγ*→π0transition form factor
We study the reaction e+e- --> e+e-pi0 and measure the gamma gamma* --> pi0 transition form factor in the momentum transfer range from 4 to 40 GeV^2. The analysis is based on 442 fb^-1 of integrated luminosity collected at PEP-II with the BABAR detector at e+e- center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV.
Limits on tau lepton-flavor violating decays into three charged leptons
A search for the neutrinoless, lepton-flavor violating decay of the tau lepton into three charged leptons has been performed using an integrated luminosity of 468 fb(-1) collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. In all six decay modes considered, the numbers of events found in data are compatible with the background expectations. Upper limits on the branching fractions are set in the range (1.8-3.3) x 10(-8) at 90% confidence level.

Measurement of initial-state–final-state radiation interference in the processese+e−→μ+μ−γande+e−→π+π−γ
Charge asymmetry in processes e+ e- --> mu+ mu- gamma and e+ e- --> pi+ pi- gamma is measured using 232 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV. An observable is introduced and shown to be very robust against detector asymmetries while keeping a large sensitivity to the physical charge asymmetry that results from the interference between initial and final state radiation. The asymmetry is determined as afunction of the invariant mass of the final-state tracks from production threshold to a few GeV/c2. It is compared to the expectation from QED for e+ e- --> mu+ mu- gamma and from theoretical models for e+ e- --> pi+ pi- gamma. A clear interfe…

Precision Measurement of the Ratio B(ϒ(3S)→τ+τ−)/B(ϒ(3S)→μ+μ−)
We report on a precision measurement of the ratio ${\cal R}_{\tau\mu}^{\Upsilon(3S)} = {\cal B}(\Upsilon(3S)\to\tau^+\tau^-)/{\cal B}(\Upsilon(3S)\to\mu^+\mu^-)$ using data collected with the BaBar detector at the SLAC PEP-II $e^+e^-$ collider. The measurement is based on a 28 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected at a center-of-mass energy of 10.355 GeV corresponding to a sample of 122 million $\Upsilon(3S)$ mesons. The ratio is measured to be ${\cal R}_{\tau\mu}^{\Upsilon(3S)} = 0.966 \pm 0.008_\mathrm{stat} \pm 0.014_\mathrm{syst}$ and is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction of 0.9948 within 2 standard deviations. The uncertainty in ${\cal R}_{\tau\mu}^{\Upsilon(3S)}$ is almost an o…
Observation of the Decay D0→K−π+e+e−
We report the observation of the rare charm decay D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+}e^{+}e^{-}, based on 468 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected at or close to the center-of-mass energy of the ϒ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find the branching fraction in the invariant mass range 0.675<m(e^{+}e^{-})<0.875 GeV/c^{2} of the electron-positron pair to be B(D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+}e^{+}e^{-})=(4.0±0.5±0.2±0.1)×10^{-6}, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third due to the uncertainty in the branching fraction of the decay D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}π^{-} used as a normalization mode. The significance of the observation…
