In 1620, was named chief pilot of the Casa de Contratación de Sevilla Diego Ramírez de Arellano, author of a manuscript entitled Reconocimiento de los estrechos de Magallanes y San Vicente, con algunas cosas curiosas de navegación. He had participated in the reconnaissance mission referred by the title of the manuscript, and in that book developed same methods and tools for a nautical understood scientifically, and even used a methodology close to modern science, as in refuting the theory about Figueiredo of the linear relationship between longitude and magnetic variation of the needle navigation. A review is made on the instruments and dimensions that use the different Spanish universities to evaluate the professors from student’s ratings. Selecting repeated items, almost used in four or more universities, a new instrument has been created and validated with 334 students of the University of A Coruña. Results are analysed.

[EN] This paper has a twofold purpose. First, to structure and relate a teaching experience on the tutoring of a graduation work in Mathematics made in the University of Valencia. The main property of the didactic purpose involved in the project is that it deals with the geometric properties of a landmark building of the city of Valencia. Our aim is to analyze the process of formulation, firming up, documentation and elaboration of the work that was followed during this experience. El presente articulo indaga sobre la existencia y evolucion de una brecha de genero en el aprendizaje de las matematicas en Espana, con base a los resultados de la evaluacion del Programa Internacional para la Evaluacion de Estudiantes (PISA) en todas sus ediciones. Se valora tambien la competencia matematica de los alumnos espanoles, sin diferencia de genero. Se ha realizado una revision bibliografica de los ultimos 30 anos y un analisis multisectorial de los datos suministrados por los informes PISA. Testing Equality of Multiple Power Spectral Density Matrices

This paper studies the existence of optimal invariant detectors for determining whether P multivariate processes have the same power spectral density. This problem finds application in multiple fields, including physical layer security and cognitive radio. For Gaussian observations, we prove that the optimal invariant detector, i.e., the uniformly most powerful invariant test, does not exist. Additionally, we consider the challenging case of close hypotheses, where we study the existence of the locally most powerful invariant test (LMPIT).
