2018

Creating digital stories provides with important opportunities to practice and master a number of specific 21st-century skills, content, and technology standards. Storytelling has been extensively used in children’s education as a valuable and creative tool, however, its use in the higher education process has been less common and this paper proposes that storytelling can be used as an effective reflective tool in higher education. Digital storytelling is essentially the application of technology to this age-old experience of sharing personal narratives and seeking to teach and learn from them. What is different, and what makes these digital stories so potentially powerful, is the availabil…
Jääkiekkoilijoiden maksimaalisen luistelunopeuden ja anaerobisen kestävyyden ennustaminen H/M -suhteen avulla
2008
2008
The relationship between awareness and learning German was esamined in project work undertaken with students of the degree course in International Media Studies at the University of Palermo. For many years now reflection upon and evaluation of learning processes have been regarded as an integral part of foreign language teaching. This article gives a detailed and differentiated account of research carried out over the last ten years into the role of awareness in second and foreign language learning. Focusing of this aspect of consciousness in Richard Schmidt's definition and re-examining it in the light of Klaus Holzkamp's learning theory, a theoretical approach is worked out which links th…
A RESTORATION ORIENTED HBIM SYSTEM FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE DOCUMENTATION: THE CASE STUDY OF PARMA CATHEDRAL
2018
Abstract. The need to safeguard and preserve Cultural Heritage (CH) is increasing and especially in Italy, where the amount of historical buildings is considerable, having efficient and standardized processes of CH management and conservation becomes strategic. At the time being, there are no tools capable of fulfilling all the specific functions required by Cultural Heritage documentation and, due to the complexity of historical assets, there are no solution as flexible and customizable as CH specific needs require. Nevertheless, BIM methodology can represent the most effective solution, on condition that proper methodologies, tools and functions are made available. The paper describes an …
Comparison of a near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy system and skin conductance measurements for in vivo estimation of skin hydration: a clinical …
2017
Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy system was developed for estimation of skin hydration in the near-infrared spectral range of 900-1700 nm. Experimental setup consisted of a near-infrared spectrometer, Y-type fiber optics probe with 1 detection and 6 illumination fibers, halogen-tungsten light source and a PC. By analyzing diffuse reflectance spectrum, a parameter representing skin hydration by performing baseline correction and calculating the area under the 1450 nm water absorption maximum is proposed. A clinical study was performed acquiring data of skin hydration of 39 patients' forearm skin. Results of the developed system are compared to results obtained by a commercial device based on…
La radicalidad del mal banal
2002
‘Banality of evil’ was a concept introduced by Hannah Arendt in order to characterize a new form of wickedness embodied in people as Adolf Eichmann and others nazis crimin…
The Effect of an enriched sport program on children's executive functions: the ESA program
2020
Purpose: The effects of physical exercise on executive functions (EFs) are well documented. EFs are involved in daily activities, and their development determines the quality of people’s future life, both in terms of mental health and quality of life. The purpose of the current paper is to evaluate the effects of a physical education program, elaborated within the Enriched Sports Activity Program (ESA Program), an Erasmus + Project, on EFs, namely, visuospatial working memory, inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, and task switching. Method: Data were collected on November 2017 (t1) and May 2018 (t2). At t1, a sample of 357 children from four European countries (Italy, Germany, Lithuan…
