Online Academic Networks as Knowledge Brokers: The Mediating Role of Organizational Support
2018
Placing online academic networks in the framework of social, cultural and institutional “deterritorialization,” the current paper aims at investigating the functionality of these new forms of transnational and trans-organizational aggregations as knowledge brokers. The emphasis is laid on the influence of human collective intelligence and consistent knowledge flows on research innovation, considering the role of organizational support within higher education systems. In this respect, the research relied on a questionnaire-based survey with 140 academics from European emerging countries, the data collected being processed via a partial least squares structural equation modelling technique. Synergistic Information Transfer in the Global System of Financial Markets.
2020
Uncovering dynamic information flow between stock market indices has been the topic of several studies which exploited the notion of transfer entropy or Granger causality, its linear version. The output of the transfer entropy approach is a directed weighted graph measuring the information about the future state of each target provided by the knowledge of the state of each driving stock market index. In order to go beyond the pairwise description of the information flow, thus looking at higher order informational circuits, here we apply the partial information decomposition to triplets consisting of a pair of driving markets (belonging to America or Europe) and a target market in Asia. Our …

¿Implicar a los estudiantes en la modificación de rúbricas influye sobre su percepción de validez?
2019
[EN] Oral presentation is one of the fundamental competences in the teaching-learning process for most of the university students and rubrics could be used as a useful tool in this process. Therefore, the main objective was to determine the perception of validity and utility of a rubric for students of the Physical Education and Sports Sciences degree, considering also if they were involved or not in the rubric’s development. 115 students participated, in two groups. The teacher of the subject gave to both groups the same rubric to evaluate their oral presentations. So, one of the groups modified and prepared the rubric´s elements. The teacher of the subject provided the rubric to evaluate oral presentations. After oral presentations, students answered two question…
Aprender finanzas conductuales experimentando
2021
[EN] In an ever-changing economic and business environment, it is especially interesting that students learn, and experiment with their own decision-making, about behavioral finance. This experience will provide them with a better understanding of the economic agents’ behavior in different real- life situations (auctions, pricing, negotiations, investing and financing decisions). By experimenting, they acquire solid knowledge about biases, rational and irrational behaviors, and motivations that govern economic life. Controlled economic experiments in the classroom, a gamification learning methodology, allow students to better understand complex economic-financial concepts such as the herdin…

La dimensión social del lenguaje como una oportunidad educativa para la promoción del diálogo intercultural en el aula de Educación Superior
2021
[EN] For some time, it has been considered the need to approach the educational experience to the student sociocultural reality in the context of a classroom in Higher Education. This need is even more evident in the context of international exchange programs, in which the main objective is precisely to provide a space for mutual enrichment between the student's culture of origin and the host culture. In this sense, the “Grup d’Acompanyament Lingüístic” (GRUPal) works to promote the intercultural dialogue that inevitably and spontaneously takes place in and outside the classroom. The purpose of this paper is to present a didactic intervention based on inclusion and cooperative exchange as w…
