Darbā tiek pētīta bioatkritumu iespējama pārstrāde, izmantojot hidrotermālo karbonizāciju. Pētījuma laikā arī tiek salīdzinātas mākslīgi radītu humusvielu īpašības ar dabiskas izcelsmes humusvielām. Eksperimentu laikā tika izmantoti sadzīves atkritumu un lauksaimniecības blakusprodukti. Veicot pētījumu radās atziņa, ka mākslīgi radītu humusvielu īpašības ir ļoti līdzīgas dabiskas izcelsmes humsuvielām. Lai iegūtu tuvu līdzību, hidrotermālās karbonizācijas procesa laikā ir jānodrošina pareiza temperatūra un noteikts laiks, lai process būtu pietiekams, un lai biomasa sārmainā vidē tiktu degradēta. Tomēr, maz pētījumu tika veikti gan par pašrediģēšanas, gan vienaudžu rediģēšanas prasmēm, un neviens pētījums neizskatīja rediģēšanu, lai uzlabotu profesionālās vidusskolas skolēnu, kuri apgūst angļu valodu, kā svešvalodu, rakstīšanas prasmes. The authors study the extrinsic conformal geometry of space forms involving pencils of circles or spheres. They consider curves orthogonal to a foliation of an open set of a 3-sphere by spheres and prove that the osculating spheres to the curves at points of a leaf form a pencil. They first prove the analogous result in a lower-dimensional case, that is, foliations of the 2-dimensional sphere and their orthogonal foliations. The 3-dimensional result, that is, the result for a foliation of (an open subset of) the 3-dimensional sphere by 2-dimensional spheres, is obtained using the de Sitter space, which is a model for the set of oriented spheres of the 3-dimensional sphere.

Within the Brassicaceae, wild as well as crop species are challenged by specialist herbivores including cabbage white butterflies (Pieris spp.). The wild crucifer Brassica nigra responds to oviposition by Pieris butterflies by the synergistic expression of two egg-killing traits. Genotypes that express a hypersensitive response (HR)-like necrosis (direct egg-killing) also emit oviposition-induced plant volatiles (OIPVs) attracting Trichogramma egg parasitoids (indirect egg-killing). Correlation analysis of vibration modes in physical vapour deposited Bi 2 Se 3 thin films probed by the Raman mapping technique

In this work, the Raman spectroscopy mapping technique is used for the analysis of mechanical strain in Bi2Se3 thin films of various (3-400 nm) thicknesses synthesized by physical vapour deposition on amorphous quartz and single-layer graphene substrates. The evaluation of strain effects is based on the correlation analysis of in-plane (E2g) and out-of-plane (A21g) Raman mode positions. For Bi2Se3 films deposited on quartz, experimental datapoints are scattered along the line with a slope of similar to 0.85, related to the distribution of hydrostatic strain.
