Massenspektrometrische Untersuchungen an 4(5)-Hydroxymethyl-imidazolen

Es wurden 12 unterschiedlich substituierte Hydroxymethylimidazole massenspektrometrisch untersucht und die charakteristischen Schlusselbruchstucke beschrieben. Fur den Zerfall von 4(5)-Hydroxymethyl-imidazol (1) und 5-Hydroxymethyl-1-methyl-imidazol (8) werden Fragmentierungsschemata angegeben. Mass Spectrometry of 4(5)-Hydroxymethylimidazoles 12 substituted hydroxymethylimidazoles were investigated by mass spectrometry. The characteristic fragments are described. Schemes for the fragmentation of 4(5)-hydroxymethylimidazole (1) and 5-hydroxymethyl-1-methylimidazole (8) are reported.

Abstract The aggregation receptor (AR) from the marine sponge GEODIA CYDONIUM was analyzed with respect to its monosaccharide composition. Three major sugars ( D -galactose, D -glucose and D -glucuronic acid) accounted for about 85 % of the total carbohydrate. Negative results with different lectins directed against D -galactosyl, N -acetyl- D -galactosaminyl and N -acetyl- D -glucosaminyl groups, respectively, showed that these sugars are serologically unreactive in AR. Positive serological reactions were obtained with CONCANAVALIN A and LIMULUS POLYPHEMUS agglutinin. AR also reacted strongly with the basic polymer poly- L -lysine. Solitary ulcers of the rectum may be traumatic in origin and caused by thermometers, occasionally by digital removal of a fecal impaction, or by deviate sexual behavior. Solitary rectal ulcers may also be a manifestation of Crohn’s disease. Very rarely, ectopic gastric mucosa is their cause. For the vast majority of solitary rectal ulcers, the explanation remains unknown. Occasionally, the ulcers are accompanied by localized inflammation of the mucosa within the distal segment of the rectum with edema, erythema, and circumscribed whitish flecks in a thickened bowel wall covered by excessive secretions. Alterations of peripheral testosterone metabolism after induced hypoprolactinemia in patients with prostatic carcinoma

In 12 patients with advanced prostatic carcinoma the effect of bromocriptine-induced hypoprolactinemia on the peripheral androgen metabolism was investigated after 3H-testosterone injection under conditions that each individual served as his own control. After a 5-day significant prolactin suppression, the elimination of 3H-label 1 h after testosterone injection was about 45% and equal to pre-bromocriptine values. The recovery of dihydrotestosterone separated by silica gel T.L.C., however, was significantly augmented, resulting in a marked decrease of the testosterone/dihydrotestosterone ratio from 12.2 to 6.3. In a pilot study of 15 depressive patients of the neurotic and endogenous type we could show that some neuroendocrinological parameters are apt to predict the thymoleptic efficacy of lofepramine. These parameters, which were measured with a simple global stimulation test (insulin hypoglycaemia combined with injection of TRH and LHRH), were as follows: high basal blood glucose; high hypoglycaemic blood glucose; high decrease of blood glucose in comparison to the basal level; low basal TSH; low increase of HGH and low increase of cortisol after hypoglycemia. It is well established that an increase in the number of eosinophils both in tissue and in the circulation is a feature of many clinical conditions based on delayed (1,2) and immediate type hypersensitivity reactions (3,4). Since eosinophils have been recognised to exert specific killer function on parasites (5) and to be prominent participants at sites of inflammation, the mechanisms of their chemo-attraction are of major importance. In immediate type hypersensitivity reactions, eosinophils have been demonstrated to counteract the mediators of inflammation such as histamine (6), the SRS-A (7) and the platelet aggregating factor (8).

Quantitative Bestimmung leichter Elemente mit Hilfe der Röntgenfluorescenzanalyse: Kalium

Es wird ein Verfahren fur die quantitative Bestimmung von Kalium mit Hilfe der energiedispersiven Rontgenfluorescenzanalyse beschrieben, das fur die Anwendung auf Wasserproben ausgearbeitet wurde. Das Kalium wird als Tetraphenylborat gefallt und gemessen. Zur Anregung der Fluorescenzstrahlung dient eine Rontgenrohre mit Wolframanode und Titan als Sekundartarget, zur Messung der Rontgenspektren wird ein Si(Li)-Detektor verwendet. Unter den beschriebenen Versuchsbedingungen konnen 0,1–1000 μg (0,04–400 μg/cm2) Kalium bestimmt werden.

An atmospheric model for computing direct and diffuse solar radiation

Abstract This paper proposes an atmospheric model, which extends the computation of the direct radiation given by Cole's model to the cloudy sky and shows a method to calculate the diffuse radiation. Therefore the monthly average values of the global radiation incident on a horizontal surface at Palermo are computed by this method. These values are compared with the experimental data provided by the Istituto di Idraulica Agraria, Universita di Palermo and generally exhibit a mean deviation not more than 10 per cent. 1H and 13C NMR Measurements of Dimethylchloroformiminium Chloride and Dimethylformamide Hydrochloride

Dual proton and carbon-13 NMR spectra of dimethylchloroformiminium chloride 1 and dimethylformamide hydrochloride 2 in CDCl3 at different temperatures have been measured and the results compared to proton NMR data of dimethyl formamide 3. The energy barriers of internal rotation about C-N bond in 1 and 2 were considerably lower than that of 3. The values of E were 39.3 for 1, 55.9 for 2 and (lit. value) 89.3 for 3 (in kJ/mole).

Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin 6-7-vuotiaiden lasten vuorovaikutuksen aloittamisen ja ylläpitämisen perusvalmiuksia ja tavoitteelliseen yhteistoimintaan osallistumista ja näiden taustatekijöitä ennen kouluikää ja välittömästi koulunkäynnin alkaessa. During examination of the anal region and before doing the rectal examination, the hand is protected by a plastic glove. A number of disposable gloves of varying strengths are on the market. One may additionally use a finger cot on the forefinger, which is removed after the examination. The examination can also be done using a finger cot alone with the finger stuck through a piece of gauze that protects the rest of the hand. Right-handed examiners often elect to use the forefinger of the left hand for the rectal examination and keep the right hand uncontaminated for handling instruments.
