Computational study of the spin-forbidden H 2 oxidative addition to 16-electron Fe(0) complexes

2003

International audience; The spin-forbidden oxidative addition of H2 to Fe(CO)4, Fe(PH3)4, Fe(dpe)2 and Fe(dmpe)2 [dpe = H2PCH2CH2PH2, dmpe = (CH3)2PCH2CH2P(CH3)2] has been investigated by density functional theory using a modified B3PW91 functional. All 16-electron fragments are found to adopt a spin triplet ground state. The H2 addition involves a spin crossover in the reagents region of configurational space, at a significantly higher energy relative to the triplet dissociation asymptote and, for the case of Fe(CO)4·H2, even higher than the singlet dissociation asymptote. After crossing to the singlet surface, the addition proceeds directly to the classical cis-dihydride product. Only for…

Mild, Fast, and Easy To Conduct MoCl5-Mediated Dehydrogenative Coupling Reactions in Flow

2018

A convenient and straightforward approach to performing oxidative coupling reactions in flow is presented. A collection of electron-rich benzene derivatives was subjected to this protocol, and the distinct utility of molybdenum pentachloride (MoCl5) is established. Using this unexplored protocol, biphenyls could be obtained in 21–91% isolated yield. This simple protocol opens a new chapter in reagent-mediated dehydrogenative coupling reactions, and yields are compared to classical approaches.

Copper-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidative Alkynylation of 3,4-Dihydroquinoxalin-2-ones

2019

Herein, we described a ligand-free copper-catalyzed aerobic oxidative functionalization of 3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2(1H)-ones with terminal alkynes using visible-light and oxygen as terminal oxidant to give 3-ethynyl-3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2(1H)-one, cyclic propargylic amines, in moderate to good yields. Moreover, we demonstrate the versatility of the 3-ethynyl-3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2(1H)-ones obtained by preparing several 3,4-dihydroquinoxalin-2-one derivatives.

Kinetic and Electrochemical Studies of the Oxidative Addition of Demanding Organic Halides to Pd(0): the Efficiency of Polyphosphane Ligands in Low P…

2013

International audience; Oxidative addition (OA) of organic halides to palladium(0) species is a fundamental reaction step which initiates the C–C bond formation catalytic processes typical of Pd(0)/Pd(II) chemistry. The use of structurally congested polyphosphane ligands in palladium-catalyzed C–C bond formation has generated very high turnover numbers (TONs) in topical reactions such as Heck, Suzuki, Sonogashira couplings, and direct sp2C–H functionalization. Herein, the OA of aryl bromides to Pd(0) complexes stabilized by ferrocenylpolyphosphane ligands L1 (tetraphosphane), L2 (triphosphane), and L3 (diphosphane) is considered. The investigation of kinetic constants for the addition of Ph…

Molybdenum Pentachloride Mediated Synthesis of Spirocyclic Compounds by Intramolecular Oxidative Coupling

2015

The oxidative treatment of (m)ethyl 2-aryl cinnamates equipped with methoxy groups in position 4 of the phenyl moiety promote the formation of cyclohexadienone substructures. This dealkylative oxidative C–C coupling gives access to spirocyclic compounds and avoids the construction of the corresponding phenanthrenes. Furthermore, the transformation can be expanded to other spirocyclic systems.

Diabetes and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system: Implications for covid-19 patients with diabetes treatment management

2020

In the context of the COVID-19 continuous spreading, this paper focuses on the increased risk of diabetic patients regarding the metabolic control and the uncertainties related to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Chronic hyperglycaemia negatively affects the immune system, which triggers an increase of morbidity and mortality for viral infections. A key aspect of COVID-19 resides in the involvement of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone (RAAS) system that causes a cascade of reactions mediated by vasoactive peptides with implications in vasoconstriction, vascular permeability, oxidative stress remodelling and tissue injuries. Activation of RAAS at pulmonary level, is responsible for the local damage. Many q…

Preliminary Study on the In vitro and In vivo Effects of Asparagopsis taxiformis Bioactive Phycoderivates on Teleosts

2016

Several compounds from marine organisms have been studied for their potential use in aquaculture. Among the red algae, Asparagopsis taxiformis is considered one of the most promising species for the production of bioactive metabolites with numerous proposed applications. Here, the in vitro antibacterial activity, the easy handling and the absence of adverse effects on marine fish species are reported. Depending on the seasonal period of sampling, ethanol extracts of A. taxiformis exhibited significantly different inhibitory activity against fish pathogenic bacteria. The extract obtained in late spring showed strong antibacterial activity against Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida, Vib…

Interaction Between ABA Signaling and Copper Homeostasis inArabidopsis thaliana

2016

ABA is involved in plant responses to non-optimal environmental conditions, including nutrient availability. Since copper (Cu) is a very important micronutrient, unraveling how ABA affects Cu uptake and distribution is relevant to ensure adequate Cu nutrition in plants subjected to stress conditions. Inversely, knowledge about how the plant nutritional status can interfere with ABA biosynthesis and signaling mechanisms is necessary to optimize stress tolerance in horticultural crops. Here the reciprocal influence between ABA and Cu content was addressed by using knockout mutants and overexpressing transgenic plants of high affinity plasma membrane Cu transporters (pmCOPT) with altered Cu up…

Transcriptome approach to understand the potential mechanisms inhibiting or triggering blossom-end rot development in tomato fruit in response to pla…

2017

The objectives of this study were to analyze changes in gene expression and identify candidate genes and gene networks potentially inhibiting or triggering blossom-end rot (BER) in tomatoes treated with plant growth regulators. ?Ace 55 (Vf)? tomato plants were grown in a greenhouse and sprayed with Apogee (300 mg L?1), abscisic acid (ABA) (500 mg L?1), water (control), or gibberellins 4?+?7 (GA4?+?7) (300 mg L?1) weekly after pollination. The BER incidence rate was zero in Apogee- and ABA-, medium in water-, and high in GA4?+?7-treated plants from 26 to 40 days after pollination (DAP). At 26 DAP, healthy blossom-end fruit tissue still not showing visible BER symptoms was used for transcript…
