Laser direct writing of gold conductors from metallorganic inks

Laser deposition of gold lines from spin-on metallorganic (MO) precursors has been studied. A readily available and relatively low-cost commercial MO ink has been used to write gold interconnects on different substrates. The physical properties of the ink, its laser-firing process on oxidised silicon substrates and its electrical characterisation are presented here, together with the experimental procedure needed for obtaining low-resistivity deposits.
Advanced time-stamped total data acquisition control front-end for MeV ion beam microscopy and proton beam writing

Many ion-matter interactions exhibit [email protected] time dependences such as, fluorophore emission quenching and ion beam induced charge (IBIC). Conventional event-mode MeV ion microbeam data acquisition systems discard the time information. Here we describe a fast time-stamping data acquisition front-end based on the concurrent processing capabilities of a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The system is intended for MeV ion microscopy and MeV ion beam lithography. The speed of the system (>240,000 events s^-^1 for four analogue to digital converters (ADC)) is limited by the ADC throughput and data handling speed of the host computer.
Laser Beam Lithography For 3-D Surface Patterning

A low power laser processing unit, for microlithographic applications on non-planar surfaces, is described. By combining proper laser beam handling, micropositioning, software control and surface coating techniques, a 5-axis robotic system for laser writing has been set up. Light from a He-Cd laser source is fiber-delivered to a writing head, which moves around a resist coated solid object. After exposure, traditional wet processing can be applied. The unit is capable of patterning metal films deposited on samples up to a size of 50x50x100 mm, with 5 micrometer spatial resolution. An application in 3-D circuit fabrication is presented.

A recent programme of technical collaboration between Alelco, DIE of Palermo and CRES of Monreale has led to the development and operative confirmation of a technique for delineating conductive microgeometries on various types of Substrates. This technique, using a flexible System of laser microlithography on planar (2-D) or three-dimensional (3-D) surfaces, has led to the development of several types of thin film components for use at both low and high frequencies. © 1994, MCB UP Limited
Nanofabrication on 2D and 3D Topography via Positive‐Tone Direct‐Write Laser Lithography

Direct laser writing (DLW) lithography using two‐photon absorption is a powerful technique mostly used for fabrication of complex structures in micro‐ and nanoscale, by photopolymerizing a negative‐tone resist. In contrast, in this study it is demonstrated that DLW is also well suited for fabricating nano‐ to microscale metallic structures using lift‐off and a positive‐tone photoresist. It is shown first that versatile, fast and large area fabrication is possible on flat two‐dimensional insulating substrates, and an expression for how the line width varies with the scanning speed is derived, with excellent agreement with the experiments. The concept of affordances has been increasingly applied to the study of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in organizational contexts. However, almost no research operationalizes affordances, limiting comparisons and programmatic research. This article briefly reviews conceptualizations and possibilities of affordances in general and for media, then introduces the concept of organizational media affordances as organizational resources. This essay examines the way Marina Warner's radio play They Make a Desert and Call it Peace (2014) and its fictional reworking of contemporary news such as the Bloody Sunday report and the investigation of the Gaza Flotilla Raid of 30 May 2010. After a presentation of the development of radio plays in England, the essay shows what interest they have generated among feminist writers and how Warner uses the voice of women in her play, which also serves as a rewriting of the biblical story of Salome, to question the transmission of the memory of traumatic events such as the Bloody Sunday. L’enjeu de cet article réside dans la mesure du rôle des capacités motivationnelles des étudiants sur la réussite universitaire, en adoptant une démarche quantitative et intégrative. À cette fin, les données récoltées sur des étudiants en première année de licence de trois filières permettent de contrôler un ensemble de facteurs relatifs aux caractéristiques socio-démographiques et scolaires des étudiants. Mesurée dans le cadre de la théorie de l’autodétermination, il ressort des analyses que la motivation intrinsèque exerce une influence positive tandis que l’amotivation se traduit par de moins bonnes performances.
