Novel Stability Criteria for T--S Fuzzy Systems
In this paper, novel stability conditions for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems are presented. The so-called nonquadratic membership-dependent Lyapunov function is first proposed, which is formulated in a higher order form of both the system states and the normalized membership functions than existing techniques in the literature. Then, new membership-dependent stability conditions are developed by the new Lyapunov function approach. It is shown that the conservativeness of the obtained criteria can be further reduced as the degree of the Lyapunov function increases. Dissipativity-Based Small-Gain Theorems for Stochastic Network Systems
In this paper, some small-gain theorems are proposed for stochastic network systems which describe large-scale systems with interconnections, uncertainties and random disturbances. By the aid of conditional dissipativity and showing times of stochastic interval, small-gain conditions proposed for the deterministic case are extended to the stochastic case. When some design parameters are tunable in practice, we invaginate a simpler method to verify small-gain condition by selecting one subsystem as a monitor. Chaos synchronization for a class of chaotic systems via H<inf>&#x221E;</inf> control technique
In this paper, the robust synchronization control for a class of chaotic systems is studied. Based on linear matrix inequality techniques and Lyapunov stability theory, a novel H∝ robust synchronization controller is designed for the possible application in real engineering. Finally, some numerical simulations are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.
Gain-scheduled H-infinity observer design for nonlinear stochastic systems with time-delay and actuator saturation
In this paper, we propose a method for designing continuous gain-scheduled robust H ∞ observer on a class of extended stochastic nonlinear systems subject to time delay and actuator saturation. Initially, gradient linearization procedure is applied to describe such extended nonlinear systems into several model-based linear systems. Next, a robust linear H ∞ observer is designed to such linear stochastic models. Filtering with dissipativity for T-S fuzzy systems with time-varying delay: Reciprocally convex approach
This paper is focused on the problem of reliable filter design with strictly dissipativity for a class of discrete-time T-S fuzzy time-delay systems. Our attention is paid on the design of reliable filter to ensure a strictly dissipative performance for the filtering error system. By employing the reciprocally convex approach, a sufficient condition of dissipativity analysis is obtained for T-S fuzzy delayed systems with sensor failures. A desired reliable filter is designed by solving a convex optimization problem.
On the stability analysis for impulsive switching system with time-varying delay
This paper focuses on the stability and stabilization problem for a neutral impulsive switching system with time-varying delay. Based on LMI method and optimization technologies, some stability criteria are derived for this kind of system. BIBO Stability Analysis for Delay Switched Systems with Nonlinear Perturbation

Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional theory, new BIBO stabilization criteria are established in terms of delay-dependent linear matrix inequalities. The numerical simulation is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the results obtained in the paper.

This paper investigates the problem of simultaneous state and fault estimation and observer-based fault tolerant controller design for Lipschitz nonlinear systems with sensor failure. A new estimation technique is presented in this paper to deal with this design problem. In the proposed approaches, the original system is first augmented by a descriptor model transformation, then a new Proportional and Derivative sliding mode observer technique is developed to obtain accurate estimations of both system states and sensor faults. Fuzzy sliding mode control design for a class of disturbed systems
This paper discusses the problem of the fuzzy sliding mode control for a class of disturbed systems. First, a fuzzy auxiliary controller is constructed based on a feedback signal not only to estimate the unknown control term, but also participates in the sliding mode control due to the fuzzy rule employed. Then, we extend our theory into the cases, where some kind of system information can not be obtained, for better use of our theoretical results in real engineering. Robust H∞ synchronization of a hyper-chaotic system with disturbance input
Abstract This paper concerns the robust control problems on the synchronization of a hyper-chaotic system with disturbance input. Using an appropriate Lyapunov function, we design the multi-dimensional and the single-dimensional robust H ∞ synchronization controllers in terms of linear matrix inequalities for the application in practical engineering. Corresponding theoretical derivations are given subsequently. Finally, some numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

Stochastic Stability Analysis for Markovian Jump Neutral Nonlinear Systems
In this paper, the stability problem is studied for a class of Markovian jump neutral nonlinear systems with time-varying delay. By Lyapunov-Krasovskii function approach, a novel mean-square exponential stability criterion is derived for the situations that the system's transition rates are completely accessible, partially accessible and non-accessible, respectively. Moreover, the developed stability criterion is extended to the systems with different bounded sector nonlinear constraints. Finally, some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
Optimal design of an electro-hydraulic valve for heavy-duty vehicle clutch actuator with certain constraints
Abstract The main objective of this paper is to investigate the sensitivity analysis and optimal design of a proportional solenoid valve (PSV) operated pressure reducing valve (PRV) for heavy-duty automatic transmission clutch actuators. The nonlinear electro-hydraulic valve model is developed based on fluid dynamics. In order to implement the sensitivity analysis and optimization for the PRV, the PSV model is validated by comparing the results with data obtained from a real test-bench. In this paper, the problems of robust stability and stabilization are investigated for a class of continuous-time uncertain systems. The uncertainties in the model are state-dependent and belong to a polytopic convex set, as can be found in many electronic circuits and some other applications. The global asymptotic stability conditions for such systems are first established by the classic common quadratic Lyapunov function approach. Observer-based H∞ control on stochastic nonlinear systems with time-delay and actuator nonlinearity
Abstract In this paper, an observer-based H ∞ controller is designed for a class of extended Markov jump systems subject to time-delay and actuator saturation nonlinearity. Gradient linearization procedure is employed to describe such nonlinear systems by several linear Markov jump systems. Next, a mode-dependent Lyapunov function is constructed for these linear systems, and a sufficient condition is derived to make them stochastically stable, and then, a continuous gain-scheduled approach is applied to design a continuous nonlinear observer-based controller on the entire extended nonlinear jump system. New fault detection filter design approach for continues-time switched systems
This paper investigates the problem of fault detection filter design for continuous-time switched systems. The designed fault detection filter is assumed to be asynchronous with the original systems. Attention is focused on designing a fault detection filter such that the estimation error between the residual and the fault is minimized in the sense of H ∞ norm. By employing piecewise Lyapunov function and average dwell time techniques, a sufficient condition for the existence of such a filter is exploited in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
Design on fuzzy control for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems
The problem of Hankel-norm output feedback control is solved for a class of T-S fuzzy stochastic systems. The dynamic output feedback controller design technique is proposed by employing fuzzy-basis-dependent Lyapunov function approach and the conversion on the Hankel-norm controller parameters. In this paper, the problem of exponential stability is studied for a class of Markovian jump neutral nonlinear systems with mixed neutral and discrete time delays. By Lyapunov-Krasovskii function approach, a novel mean-square exponential stability criterion is derived for the situation that the system's transition rates are partially or completely accessible. In this paper, the problem of non-fragile observer-based H ∞ control for discrete-time switched delay systems is investigated. Both data missing and time delays are taken into account in the links from sensors to observers and from controllers to actuators. Such problem is transformed into an H ∞ control problem for stochastic switched delay systems. Attention is focused on designing a FD filter such that the estimation error between the residual and the fault is minimized in the sense of H ∞ norm. In this paper, the problem of fuzzy dynamic sliding mode control design is investigated for a class of disturbed systems. Specifically, the fuzzy controller is constructed based on one feedback signal to estimate the unknown nonlinear terms and to develop the sliding mode control according to the fuzzy rules. Stabilization of discrete-time systems with stochastic sampling
This paper is concerned with the stabilization problem of discrete-time systems with stochastic sampling. It is assumed that there are a single-rate sampling in the plant input and two stochastic sampling rates in the controller input whose occurrence probabilities are given constants and satisfy a Bernoulli distribution. By Lyapunov function approach, a new sufficient condition is presented for the mean square asymptotic stability of the system. Network-based H∞ output feedback control for uncertain stochastic systems
This paper investigates the problem of network-based Floc, output feedback control for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems. A novel model is proposed to describe the systems taken into two sides of communication channels in the network environment, which is more general than one side of communication channel. The design procedure of observer-based controller is presented, which, guarantees the asymptotic stability in the mean square of the resulting closed-loop system with an H-infinity performance. Stabilization of a class of slowly switched positive linear systems: State-feedback control
The main goal of this paper is to investigate the stabilization problem for a class of switched positive linear systems (SPLS) with average dwell time (ADT) switching in continuous-time context. State-feedback controllers and the corresponding switching law with ADT property are designed, which stabilize the closed-loop systems while keeping the states nonnegative. The proposed conditions, formulated as linear matrix inequalities, can be directly used for controller synthesis and switching designing. Finally, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity of the obtained results.
Robust fault tolerant tracking controller design for a VTOL aircraft
This paper deals with the fault tolerant control (FTC) design for a Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) aircraft subject to external disturbances and actuator faults. The aim is to synthesize a fault tolerant controller ensuring trajectory tracking for the nonlinear uncertain system represented by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model. In order to design the FTC law, a proportional integral observer (PIO) is adopted which estimate both of the faults and the faulty system states. In this work, the D-stability problem is considered for a class of discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy descriptor systems with multiple state delays. In terms of linear matrix inequality, sufficient conditions are proposed to ensure that all poles of the descriptor T-S fuzzy system are located within a disk contained in the unit circle. Full- and reduced-order filter design for discrete-time T-S fuzzy systems with time-varying delay
This paper is focused on the problem of ℋ ∞ filtering for a class of discrete-time T-S fuzzy time-varying delay systems. Our interest is how to design full- and reduced-order filters that guarantee the filtering error system to be asymptotically stable with a prescribed ℋ ∞ performance. Sufficient conditions for the obtained filtering error system are proposed by applying an input-output approach and a two-term approximation method, which is employed to approximate the time-varying delay. The corresponding full and reduced-order filter design is cast into a convex optimization problem, which can be efficiently solved by standard numerical algorithms.
