Modifications of high harmonic spectra by ion resonant transitions

High-order harmonic generation is considered in a system consisting of an ion with an internal degree of freedom plus an outer electron. The theoretical treatment is both quantum-mechanical and classical. The emphasis is on the core resonance effects, which can significantly modify the harmonic spectra, with appearance of anomalous peaks. Under some assumptions, the spectral amplitude of the resonant harmonic of the system dipole moment can be obtained by evaluation of such amplitude within a single-electron approximation and multiplication of the result by a correcting factor. We present results of a lattice computation of the vector and axial-vector current matrix elements relevant for the semileptonic decay (B) over bar(0) --> rho(+)l(-)(l). The computations are performed in the quenched approximation of lattice QCD on a 24(3) x 48 lattice at beta = 6.2, using an O(a) improved fermionic action. Our principal result is for the differential decay rate, d Gamma/dq(2), for the decay (B) over bar(0) --> rho(+)l(-)(l), in a region beyond the charm endpoint, allowing a model-independent extraction of \V-ub\ from experimental measurements. This chapter presents some results of a study on the definitions that appear in the Spanish textbooks for Primary School (Jaime, Chapa, and Gutierrez, 1992). Its aim is to point out the errors in the statements of definitions and inconsistent or inappropriate uses of definitions made in individual textbooks, or in series of textbooks. The electron-ionisation-induced amide-bond cleavage of some 2′-methyl- and 2′-ethyl-substituted 2- and 3-thiophenecarboxanilides, which yields formally anilylium ions having relative intensities apparently in contrast with the Stevenson‐Audier rule, has been investigated by mass-analysed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectrometry and compared to that of the 3 ′- and 4′-isomers. This study seeks to evaluate and analyze the link between moral judgment development in a group of secondary students from the centre of the Valencian Autonomous Region. The results show the level of moral reasoning of the individuals, which is situated in general at the conventional level of moral reasoning; although the first group reasoned more frequently than the other with post-conventional criteria. We illustrate the functioning of NIMBUS by numerical examples in the area of structural design. In the upsetting process of square rings buckling problems often arise, depending on the geometry of the ring and on the frictional conditions at the punch-workpiece interface, yielding to the practical unacceptability of the forged component. The total photoabsorption cross sections for $^{1}\mathrm{H}$, $^{2}\mathrm{H}$, and $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ have been measured for incident photon energies ranging from 200 to 800 MeV. The $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ data are the first for this nucleus. By using the large acceptance detector DAPHNE in conjunction with the tagged photon beam facility of the MAMI accelerator in Mainz, cross sections of high precision have been obtained. The results show clearly the changes in the nucleon resonances in going from $^{1}\mathrm{H}$ to $^{3}\mathrm{He}$.
