Personality characteristics analysis in couples undergoing artificial insemination

The personality characteristics of 40 couples admitted into an artificial insemination scheme have been analysed. The personality study was carried out using Cattell's questionnaire 16 PF (form C) and EPI questionnaire (Eysenck Personality Inventory). The results show significant statistical differences between males and females with a greater conformity with the group, in women; women are also bolder and more disciplined from an emotional point of view, whereas men are more radical.

Abstract Adsorption isotherms at different temperatures and isothermal micro-calorimetric curves were measured for N2 Ar, CO, and CH4 on various molecular sieves as VPI-5, MCM-9, AlPO4-8, AlPO4-H, AlPO4-5, SAPO-5, AlPO4-39, AlPO4-C. It was shown that the isosteric heats of adsorption correlated with the pore-sizes of the studied molecular sieves.

With the exception of Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae (Ppn), the tobacco black-shank causing agent, Phytophthoras give rise to non-host interactions with tobacco. The resulting local hypersensitive response (HR) is accompanied by necrotic spots on the leaves at distance from the infection site [1]. En este estudio se ha revisado la evolución clínica, radiográfica y densitométrica de 30 Prótesis Totales de Cadera modelo Bihapro, con recubrimiento de Hidroxiapatita. Se han presentado complicaciones clínicas en 3 casos (10%). La evolución ha sido de incremento de la densidad alrededor de la prótesis en el 97% de los casos. El aumento medio de densidad fue de 1 a 1,3 (cociente hueso periprotésico/hueso normal) en el cotilo y de 1,4 a 1,5 en la zona metafisaria (áreas 1 y 7 de Gruen) del fémur. Abstract Ni II , Zn II and Co II complexes of α,β-dehydro-dipeptides (containing Gly, Leu, Ala, Val or Phe residues) were studied by potentiometric and spectroscopic methods. Deprotonation and coordination of amide nitrogens occurred in all cases around the physiological pH range. The dipeptides with composition of Xaa-Δ-Ala formed octahedral species, while Gly-Δ-Xaa (Xaa = Leu or Phe) formed square planar bis complexes with Ni II .

The adsorption voltammetric determination of Mn(II) with Bromopyrogallol Red (BPR) and Mordant Red 19 (MDR) has been investigated using a hanging drop mercury electrode. In NH3/NH4Cl solution, ligands and Mn(II) complexes give well separated voltammetric peaks after enrichment onto the electrode. The conditions for determining manganese by adsorption voltammetry with these reagents have been investigated in detail, as has the influence of foreign ions on the determination. The detection limits are 4·10−10 mol/L Mn for BPR and 8·10−10 mol/L Mn for MDR, respectively.

Large- and Fine-Scale Geochemical Variations Along the Andean Arc of Northern Chile (17.5°– 22°S)

Geochemical data from 37 volcanic centres from the active volcanic front in the Central Andes between 17.5° and 22°S of northern Chile provide constraints on crustal contributions to arc magma genesis in that region. Crustal thickness, distance from the trench, height above the seismically active subduction zone, and sediment supply to the trench are all constant along this segment of the arc. The only significant variable along the current arc segment is in mean crustal age (Palaeozoic in the south to Proterozoic in the north). In this study, we investigated the expression level of Ras-homologous (Rho) GTPases and the Rho guanine exchange factor (GEF) T-cell lymphoma invasion and metastasis 1 (Tiam1) in breast tumor specimens (n=106) by immunohistochemistry. Rho and Rho-GEF expression scores were compared to clinically established diagnostic and prognostic parameters. During phase 1, we administered a screening instrument for tremor to 7,653 persons residing in Terrasini (Palermo province). The paper deals with the problems related to finding a pattern common to all words in a given set. We restrict our attention to patterns expressible by the use of variables ranging over words. Two essentially different cases result, depending on whether or not the empty word belongs to the range. We investigate equivalence and inclusion problems, patterns descriptive for a set, as well as some complexity issues. The inclusion problem between two pattern languages turns out to be of fundamental theoretical importance because many problems in the classical combinatorics of words can be reduced to it.
