This paper reviews the psychological literature on rape. The first part focuses on the rapist, stressing the aggressive nature of rape and the necessity to overcome the typological approach. The second part studies the victim, underlying the impact of the aggression suffered and the difficult circumstances that follow the victim's report to police. Neutralizing antibody and clinical status of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals

An assay based on inhibition of cytopathic effect of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) strains in Molt 4 cells was developed to quantitate neutralizing antibodies (NA) in sera of HIV-infected individuals. The assay was specific and gave results comparable to those obtained by the inhibition of immunofluorescence (IFI) and reverse transcriptase (RT) activity. Attempts were made to correlate the presence and the antibody titres with the clinical status of HIV-infected individuals classified according to Walter Reed staging classification scheme. Porous structure of titanium-aluminium catalysts supported on alumina for low-pressure ethylene polymerization

The effect of porous structure of the support on activity of titanium catalyst in the low-pressure ethylene polymerization process has been investigated. As a support, physically (heating in the temperature range of 773—1373 K) or chemically (by treatment with HC1) modified alumina has been used. Specific surface, volume, and radius of pores present on the support surface have been determined and correlated with the conditions of its modification. Oligochaetes were sampled using meiobenthos methods from depths of between 20 and 94 m in Lake Paijanne in 1986. Individuals belonging to several species of the Naididae and Aeolosomatidae, which are generally considered to include mainly littoral or lotic species, were found more or less regularly at these profundal depths. The naidid species Chaetogaster langi and Arnphichaeta leydigii were more abundant in the deepest areas than at 20 m. Species also appeared to react differently to water quality. Synthesis of Uvarovite Garnet

A garnet with interesting optical properties is synthesized by means of the ceramic method and the formation of gels. Colloidal silica or tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) is used as a starting reagent in the latter method of synthesis, together with nitrate and chloride salts of the remaining components. Use is made of ultraviolet-visible and infrared spectroscopy techniques and X-ray diffraction in studying the evolution of the system. Formation of the garnet phase at lower temperatures is observed when using the gel methods, as well as the absence of chromates during the process in the samples which contained chlorides.

En este estudio se intenta observar cual ha sido la evolución seguida por el nivel del mar en los últimos cien años en las costas del Mediterráneo francés, español y argelino. Para ello se han analizado las series de datos registrados por quince estaciones mareográficas. Los resultados obtenidos permiten apreciar un comportamiento homogéneo para el conjunto del área estudiada. La mayor parte de las estaciones analizadas muestran una subida del nivel del mar, y únicamente en tres observatorios se observa una tendencia negativa. Hereditary Angioedema Associated with Subacute Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus

The increased occurrence of various autoimmune diseases has recently been reported in patients with hereditary angioedema (HAE). This is especially the case in different forms of lupus erythematosus, but also other autoimmune diseases. We report a 24-year-old female patient who 10 years ago developed the clinical symptoms of HAE which occurred at the same time as subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus. The results of both immunological investigations and histocompatibility antigen genotyping gave no clear insight into the causal interrelationship of both diseases.
