Nuestra experiencia en la luxación recidivante de hombro

Los autores han revisado 53 pacientes afectados de Luxación Recidivante de Hombro. De ellos 46 eran varones y 7 mujeres. La edad media ha sido de 27,8 años. La mayoría de ellos de profesión sedentaria, pero aficionados al deporte. La epilepsia aparece como factor etiológico y como factor de agravamiento del pronóstico. Para la corrección se ha empleado el tratamiento quinúrgico con técnica de MAGNUSON en 46 casos, de OUDART más transplante del pectoral en 5 casos, de PUTTl-PLAT en un caso y de McKEVER en otro. Sólo en un caso la luxación ha sido posterior. Según los criterios de ROWE valorando los parámetros de dolor, movilidad y estabilidad, el resultado es francamente bueno al compararlo …

Abstract The crystal and molecular structure of the [Cu(BPCA)(OH2)(O 2CCH3]·H2O complex (BPCA = N-2-pyridinylcarbonyl-2-pyridinecarboximidate anion) has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P l with two formula units in a cell of dimensions: a = 7.416(2), b = 8.632(4), c = 13.034(3) A, α = 74.55(3), β = 84.84(3), γ = 81.04(5)°. Least-squares refinement of 2534 reflections with I > 2.5σ(I) and 218 parameters gave a final R = 0.047 and Rw = 0.049. Neural networks for the processing of sensory information show remarkable similarities between different species and across different sensory modalities. As an example, cortical organization found in the mamalian neopallium and in the optic tecta of most vertebrates appears to be equally appropriate as a substrate for visual, auditory, and somatosensory information processing. Se ha estudiado durante el periodo comprendido entre el 31 de Diciembre de 1987 hasta el 1 de Enero de 1989, las infecciones nosocomiales detectadas en el Servicio de Traumatología y Cirugía Ortopédica en los 11O1 enfermos ingresados en este periodo y en los 1383 tratamientos realizados sobre los mismos, atendiendo a riguroso criterio de infección, tanto clínico (leucocitosis, fiebre, desviación a la izquierda del esquema de Amold y supuración) como microbiológico aislamiento e identificación del gérmen causal). Abstract The aim of this paper is to analyse the transient stability of a three-phase power system with six-phase lines interconnected by three-phase to six-phase transformers. Effect of tormentic acid on insulin secretion in isolated rat islets of langerhans

1989

Tonnentic acid was isolated as the hypoglycemic agent of Poterium ancistroides Desf. The present study reports effects of this compound on isolated islets of Langerhans. We demonstrate that tormentic acid in the presence of 1.66 mM glucose initiates insulin secretion by isolated rat islets of Langerhans in a dose-dependent fashion at concentrations ranging from 0.05 to 0.5 mM. However, the compound has no effect on the insulin-releasing capacity of 16.6 mM glucose. Similar results were obtained with the sulfonylurea glibenclamide (0.01 mM) used as a reference. These results suggest that the hypoglycemic effect of tormentic acid is due to a diect effect of the compound in vitro.

A preterm infant of 25 weeks’ gestation developed at 4 months of age an “impressed” fracture of the right femur. In another preterm infant of 27 weeks’ gestation, multiple fractures of the radius and metacarpalia were observed at age 5 months. Also a full term twin showed multiple rib fractures. Additional radiological findings were: generalized skeletal osteopenia, cupping and fraying of the metaphyses of the long bones, and subperiosteal new bone formation. Anybody agrees with the idea that particle size plays an important role in the behaviour of a polycrystalline material but very few studies are giving precise information about this role. In this paper some experimental results are presented succintly to illustrate the importance of this physico-chemical factor. They are related to barium titanate, the main component of the dielectric material in the type II ceramic capacitors.

Valoración clínico-quirúrgica de la luxación recidivante de hombro

Los autores pretenden en este traba jo valorar en un período mínimo de 2 años parámetros fisiopatológicos, clínicos y terapéuticos en 17 pacientes intervenidos de luxación recidivante escápulo- humeral. Para la valoración se sigue el método de ROWE, analizando la estabilidad, la función y la movilidad. La edad media fue de 27,8 años. Notes on the use of rhetoric in t.v. advertising

We intend to reflect on the use of Rhetoric in t.v. advertising starting from the survey of several spots given off by T.V.E. Therefore, we fix the structural organization of advertisements. Afterwards we study the rhetoric of spot in the sound and in the picture and, mainly, ¡n the conjunction of both bands; in this sense spots are normally based on a rhetorical figure that involves both bands. Our observations set up an essentially metaphoric basis to the construction of publicity message. We infer that advertising works with connotative signs, where the assembly of picture and sound tracks becomes the significant of metaphoric meaning that is insinuated.

Algunas microestructuras presentes en las costas calcáreas del piedemonte de Bétena (provincia de Valencia)

Las formaciones aluviales que constituyen el piedemonte de Bétera, situado al Norte de la Provincia de Valencia, presentan a techo de sus secuencias sedimentarias importantes acumulaciones carbonatadas. Las diferentes muestras que se han analizado desde un punto de vista micromorfológico, pertenecientes a las cinco macrofacies descritas en los perfiles seleccionados, permiten reconocer gran variedad de microestructuras. De todas ellas aquí se detallan las que aparecen con mayor frecuencia, tales como laminaciones, oolítica-pisolítica, grietas de retracción y estructura de raíces. Estas microestructuras sugieren condiciones subaéreas en la génesis de las costras.

Nuestra Experiencia en el Tratamiento Funcional de las Fracturas de Tibia

Among 57 tibia! shaft fractures treated with functional method are collected. The authors report their experience with this system. They obtain 72 % of good results (unions), within normal periode of time. The angulation was smaller than 10º in 58% of cases, and never the shortening was bigger than 1' 5 cm. The subjetive results ha ve been satisfactory in the 78'9 % of patients, and 21'1 % ofthem had some disability. As complications, one patienthad Sudeck's Syndromc, and 2 patients with thrombophlebitis.

SUMMARYThis paper studies the reception of Sebastian de Covarrubias' (1539-1613) Tesoro (1611), especially with regard to France. Examining influential 17th-century French dictionaries, it is noted that Covarrubias' Tesoro had been used by bilingual lexicographers such as Cesar Oudin (1616) and Lorenzo Franciosini (1620). Further, it is shown that Pierre Richelet (1680) and Antoine Furetiere (1690) at times used the Tesoro to elaborate particular entries in their respective dictionaries. It is also demonstrated that the etymologies found in the Tesoro as a whole did not seem very credible to the French etymologist Gilles Menage (1650) for instance.
