Impact of Platelet Reactivity in ACS Patients on Clinical Outcomes with Triple Antithrombotic Therapy

2021

Optimal antithrombotic therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients on oral anticoagulants (OAC) remains a clinical conundrum. In fact, combining an OAC with dual antiplatelet therapy (triple antithrombotic therapy, TAT) increases the risk of bleeding. Clopidogrel is the only thienopyridine recommended in TAT patients. Whether its response plays a relevant role in this setting remains uncertain. We aimed to evaluate the level of platelet reactivity inhibition (PRI) achieved by oral TAT in Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) patients undergoing PCI and its relationship with outcomes. We performed a multicenter prospective observational study and assessed PRI by vasodilator-st…

Teoria, tecnica e didattica della pallacanestro in carrozzina

2021

Integrated use of unmanned aerial vehicle photogrammetry and terrestrial laser scanning to support archaeological analysis: The Acropolis of Selinunt…

2021

Southwestern Sicily is an area of infrequent seismic activity; however, some studies carried out in the archaeological Selinunte site suggest that, between the fourth century BC and the early Middle Ages, probably at least two earthquakes strucked this area with enough energy to damage and cause the collapse and kinematics of much of the architecture of Selinunte. Take into account that, in 2008, a noninvasive archaeological prospection and traditional data gathering methods along the Acropolis north fortifications were carried out. Following these first studies, after about 10 years, a new geophysical campaign was carried out. This second campaign benefited from the application of modern t…

Calibration of the underground muon detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory

2021

To obtain direct measurements of the muon content of extensive air showers with energy above $10^{16.5}$ eV, the Pierre Auger Observatory is currently being equipped with an underground muon detector (UMD), consisting of 219 10 $\mathrm{m^2}$-modules, each segmented into 64 scintillators coupled to silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs). Direct access to the shower muon content allows for the study of both of the composition of primary cosmic rays and of high-energy hadronic interactions in the forward direction. Chemotherapy of metastatic colon cancer in France: A population-based study

2021

International audience; Aims: to describe, using data from a cancer registry in a well-defined French population, the therapeutic strategies and survival of patients with metastatic colon cancer (mCC).Methods: all patients with synchronous mCC diagnosed within the 2005-2014 period recorded in the digestive cancers registry of Burgundy were included. Results: 1286 mCC patients were included (57% male), of which 34.5% did not receive any antitumor treatment. Both, advanced age (≥75 years) and the Charlson comorbidity score ≥2 were significantly associated with the absence of antitumor treatment. Among the patients treated with chemotherapy, 59 and 33% received at least two and three lines, res…

Psychological Contract Violation or Basic Need Frustration? Psychological Mechanisms Behind the Effects of Workplace Bullying

2021

Workplace bullying is a phenomenon that can have serious detrimental effects on health, work-related attitudes, and the behavior of the target. Particularly, workplace bullying exposure has been linked to lower level of general well-being, job satisfaction, vigor, and performance and higher level of burnout, workplace deviance, and turnover intentions. However, the psychological mechanisms behind these relations are still not well-understood. Drawing on psychological contract and self-determination theory (SDT), we hypothesized that perceptions of contract violation and the frustration of basic needs mediate the relationship between workplace bullying exposure and well-being, attitudinal, a…

Soluble ST2 and Diuretic Efficiency in Acute Heart Failure and Concomitant Renal Dysfunction

2021

Abstract Background Identifying patients at risk of poor diuretic response in acute heart failure (AHF) is critical to make prompt adjustments in therapy. The objective of this study was to investigate whether the circulating levels of soluble ST2 predict the cumulative diuretic efficiency (DE) at 24 and 72 hours in patients with AHF and concomitant renal dysfunction. Methods and Results This is a post hoc analysis of the IMPROVE-HF trial, in which we enrolled 160 patients with AHF and renal dysfunction (estimated glomerular filtrate rate of Conclusions In patients with AHF and renal dysfunction at presentation, circulating levels of sST2 were independently and negatively associated with a …
