El método de diagnóstico ha sido exploración con TAC y con RM. La presencia de gas intrarraquídeo es discutido en la bibliografía revisada. The authors describe four cases of secondary radicular syndrome due to radicular compression by a gas-containing cyst in the extradural space. The diagnosis was made by CT-Scan and MR imaging. The pathogenesis of the presence of epidural gas is discussed in the literature reviewed.

For the residue-analysis of fish samples, a method has been developed to separate the medium polar triazines and acetamides together with lipophilic xenobiotics (organochlorine pesticides, PCBs and octachlorostyrene) from fish tissue. The detection limits of the analytes are mostly within the ppt-range (ng/kg fillet) and vary between 40 and 1050 ng/kg fillet of fish. Their recoveries range from 75 to 108%, spiked at 1.5 μg/kg. The substances are extracted with a mixture of petroleum ether/ethylacetate (2:1) using a soxhlet apparatus. Subsequently, the lipids in the sample extracts are reduced to 0.4% by gel chromatography. Six patients with organophosphorus compound intoxications developed an intermediate syndrome (weakness and fasciculations) and obidoxime was given on eight occasions. The efficacy of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) reactivator was monitored electrophysiologically by neuromuscular transmission studies using single and repetitive nerve stimulation (20 and 50 Hz) and the activity of the serum (butyryl) cholinesterase (ChE). The relation between plasma lipids and coronary heart disease (CHD) in the elderly is still debated, as well as the proposed role of lipoproteins as markers of longevity. In this study both normolipidemic elderly and middle-aged women with CHD showed higher triglycerides and apolipoprotein B levels and lower high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol and apolipoprotein A-I levels in comparison with age-matched subjects without CHD. The existence of a bismuth titanate in the range between Bi 2 Ti 4 O 11 (Bi 2 O 3 . 4 TiO 2 ) and Bi 4 Ti 3 O 12 (2 Bi 2 O 3 . 3 TiO 2 ) has been investigated by X-ray diffraction of samples prepared by solid state reactions. The exercise is one in a series designed to identify STR loci which could be used for harmonisation between participating European forensic science laboratories. The 13 genera of Berberidaceae are investigated morphologically and cladistically in order to examine the phylogenetic relationships among the extant taxa. Cladistic analysis of 59 morphological characters using PAUP resulted in one most parsimonious tree. In the present paper main emphasis is put on inflorescence morphological features, which contributes eight characters to the current data matrix. The analysis resulted in four major clades. Urinary luteinizing hormone (LH) testing has been proposed as a reliable method for the prediction of ovulation but its accuracy has been challenged by some studies. To check how accurately the oscillations of urinary LH reflected the plasma changes, surges of LH of different magnitude and duration were artificially induced in plasma and the hormone was measured simultaneously in urine. During the period from 1985 to 1992 we treated 43 patients with intracranial arachnoid cysts (ACs). In this retrospective study we assessed the outcome of these patients with regard to non-specific symptoms such as headaches and epileptic seizures. Twelve patients had headaches of obscure origin and a mostly temporal located AC. Six of these 12 underwent surgery.
