The Limits to Volatility Predictability: Quantifying Forecast Accuracy Across Horizons

Volatility forecasting is crucial for portfolio management, risk management, and pricing of derivative securities. Still, little is known about how far ahead one can forecast volatility. First, in this paper we introduce the notions of the spot and forward predicted volatilities and propose to describe the term structure of volatility predictability by the spot and forward forecast accuracy curves. Then, by employing a few popular time-series volatility models, we perform a comprehensive empirical study on the horizon of volatility predictability. He discusses ontology’s power to determine the real by analyzing some of its unformulated presuppositions and the links with knowledge and action. Half-lives and β-delayed neutron emission probabilities of several isotopes of Au, Hg, Tl, Pb and Bi, in the neutron-rich region around and beyond N=126, were determined in an experiment performed at the RIB facility of GSI [1]. Abstract. In the present manuscript, we investigate the source of congruency effects in a group of Dutch–French bilinguals. In particular, participants performed a color-identification Stroop task, in which both (first language) Dutch and (second language) French distracting color words were presented in colors. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przedstawienie zagrożeń wynikających z fałszowania dokumentów, a szczególnie wykorzystania nowoczesnych technologii do tego niecnego procederu. Zaprezentowane zostały definicje dokumentu i fałszerstwa oraz podjęta została próba przedstawienia aktualnych kierunków rozwoju przestępczości w obszarze IT. Autorka zwróciła uwagę na problem sieci TOR (ang. The Onion Router), która stanowi obecnie największe zagrożenie dla bezpieczeństwa w zakresie autentyczności dokumentów. W artykule zwraca się także uwagę na konieczność przedsięwzięcia przez organy państwowe działań zmierzających do zapobiegania przestępczości związanej z wiarygodnością dokumentów.
