Measurement of beauty and charm production in pp collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV via non-prompt and prompt D mesons

The pT-differential production cross sections of prompt and non-prompt (produced in beauty-hadron decays) D mesons were measured by the ALICE experiment at midrapidity (|y|< 0.5) in proton-proton collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV. The data sample used in the analysis corresponds to an integrated luminosity of (19.3 ± 0.4) nb−1. D mesons were reconstructed from their decays D0→ K−π+, D+→ K−π+π+, and Ds+→ϕπ+→K−K+π+ and their charge conjugates. This paper proposes the application of a Fractional Order PI (FOPI) in the speed loop of a high performance PMSM drive to obtain both speed tracking and load rejection performance with a 1-DOF Proportional Integral (PI) controller and 2-DOF Integral Proportional (IP) controller. Hardware validation was implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array on the LabVIEW environment, based on the National Instruments System-on-Module sbRIO-9651 with Xilinx Zynq-7020. Simulation and experimental results are presented to comparing the performance of a PI, IP and FOPI controllers in the speed loop of a Field Oriented Control (FOC) of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM).

The given paper explains the necessity of condition monitoring for DC/DC boost converter circuit. Further, an analytical model of circuit parasitic estimation is presented based on measured quantities in the circuit. The implementation of continuous estimation of circuit parasitic elements is analytically explained and verified by simulations and experimental results. We study an inverse problem for the fractional wave equation with a potential by the measurement taking on arbitrary subsets of the exterior in the space-time domain. We are interested in the issues of uniqueness and stability estimate in the determination of the potential by the exterior Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. Improving the speed estimation by load torque estimation in induction motor drives: an MRAS and NUIO approach

This paper proposes the application of the NUIO inside a FOC induction motor drive for the simultaneous estimation of the load torque and the rotor speed. The idea is to estimate at first the speed with the current model in parallel with a reference model developed on the basis of the voltage model of the induction machine. We report first-principles calculations of the structural and vibrational properties of the synthesized two-dimensional van der Waals heterostructures formed by single-layers dichalcogenides MoSe2 and WSe2. We show that, when combining these systems in a periodic two-dimensional heterostructures, the intrinsic phonon characteristics of the free-standing constituents are to a large extent preserved but, furthermore, exhibit shear and breathing phonon modes that are not present in the individual building blocks. Sleep loss is known to contribute to road traffic accidents. Professional drivers are vulnerable to curtailment of sleep due to long driving bouts and shift work. To fill in the gap in the literature related to the buildup of sleep loss in irregular shift systems, we recorded the sleep and working hours of 47 shift-working long-haul truck drivers during a two-week period. This article offers a close reading of Katharine Bradley and Edith Cooper’s lyric III in Long Ago, a Sapphic volume of verse published in 1889 under the collaborative nom de plume of Michael Field. This collection articulates a dramatic inquiry into the tragedy of unrequited love in a long cycle of lyrics whose third piece most effectively encapsulates the kernel of what the Fields reconstruct as Sappho’s ambivalent eroticism. The aim of this study was to provide information on energy availability (EA), macronutrient intake, nutritional periodization practices, and nutrition knowledge in young female cross-country skiers. A total of 19 skiers filled in weighted food and training logs before and during a training camp. Nutrition knowledge was assessed via a validated questionnaire. The study also examined whether pressures and gradients can be replicated within and between participants’ legs, and between separate compression garment conditions. Robotic surgery can be safely performed for patients and healthcare workers during COVID‐19 pandemic

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the safety of robotic surgery during COVID-19 pandemic concerning new-acquired COVID-19 infections for patients and healthcare workers. PATIENTS: We performed a retrospective single-centre cohort study of patients undergoing robotic surgery in initial period of COVID-19 pandemic.
