In sensory neuropathy maximal conduction velocity is a crude measure. Variations up to 10 m/s have to be considered normal. The relation to clinical impairment is poor in either axonal/neuronal lesions or demyelination as indicated by a small normal latency and a delayed broad polyphasic nerve action potential (NAP), respectively. Conduction block evaluated on NAP changes has not yet been established. The 2485 keV γ-ray line, which in a GSI experiment originally was suggested to decay from the 6+ state of the double octupole vibration in 208Pb, was in a later experiment in Berlin proposed to belong to 207Pb, populated in one-neutron transfer. It has been searched for in the present experiment using Coulomb excitation.

This paper focuses on the nature of a segment which is always problematical —the palatal nasal. Phonetic results found in the acoustic, perceptive and articulate spheres, showing the different features of this nasal with regards to others, are the point of departure for a brief reflection on the phonological nature of this segment, taking into account the feature geometry and the articulatory phonology. It concludes by considering the palatal nasal /?/ as a complex segment formed by /n+j/ and the imputation, to temporary effects, of a degree of major o minor assimilation and gestural overlapping during effective perception of /?/, of /n+j/ or of /n+i/.

Observation of orbitally excited B mesons

Experimental evidence for the existence of orbitally excited B meson states is presented in an analysis of the Bπ and B*π distribution of Q = m(B**) - m(B(*)) - m(π) using Z0decay data taken with the DELPHI detector at LEP. The mean Q-value of the decays B**→ B(*)π is measured to be 284 ± 5 (stat.) ± 15 (syst.) MeV/c2, and the Gaussian width of the signal is 79 ± 5 (stat.) ± 8 (syst.) MeV/c2. This signal can be described as a single resonance of mass m = 5732 ± 5 (stat.) ± 20 (syst.) MeV/c2and full width Γ = 145 ± 28 MeV/c2. Se ha realizado un estudio epidemiológico de los traumatismos múltiples (TM) atendidos en el Servicio de Traumatología del Hospital Clínico de Valencia en 1992. De los 285 casos ingresados en el centro, 180 tuvieron su ingreso final en el Servicio de Traumatología. Ciento treinta y tres casos fueron varones y 47 mujeres, con edad media de 33 años. Se analizaron las variables edad, sexo, mecanismo lesional, días de ingreso, tipos de lesión, asociación de lesiones y tratamiento realizado. Por edad, la mayor incidencia fue de los l1 a los 40 años. La causa principal fue el accidente de tráfico. El Injury Severity Score (ISS) medio para toda la serie fue de 12,5 (rango: 3-48). A finite group is said to be an M-group (or monomial) if all of its irreducible characters are monomial, that is to say, induced from linear characters. La section fréquentée, mais aussi l'avenir perçu comme le plus probable, confinent les choix dans les limites de ce qui est possible vu les contraintes structurelles, notamment la division du travail entre les deux sexes. Les différents modèles théoriques mis en oeuvre par les sociologues pour rendre compte de ce jeu entre "choix" individuels et contraintes structurelles sont ensuite présentées. L'hypothèse est faite d'une certaine convergence entre modèles, au sein de la sociologie mais aussi entre sociologues et psychologues.

Presentamos un caso clínico de pseudoartrosis diafisaria de húmero, en la que se pudo observar un proceso de corrosión por abrasión de los clavos centro-medulares, acompañado de la emisión de una gran cantidad de micropartículas metálicas (titanio) al interior de los tejidos. Se plantea la posibilidad, como otros trabajos han demostrado, que la presencia de titanio en el interior de los tejidos, estimule la liberación de sustancias mediadoras de la reabsorción ósea, favoreciéndose el proceso de su pseudoartrosis.
