A star product in lattice gauge theory

Abstract We consider a variant of the cup product of simplicial cochains and its applications in discrete formulations of non-abelian gauge theory. The standard geometrical ingredients in the continuum theory all have natural analogues on a simplicial complex when this star product is used to translate the wedge product of differential forms. Although the star product is non-associative, it is graded-commutative, and the coboundary operator acts as a deviation on the star algebra. As such, it is reminiscent of the star product considered in some approaches to closed string field theory, and we discuss applications to the three dimensional non-abelian Chern-Simons theory.

Przedstawiono prostą metodę spektrofotometryczną w zakresie VIS, ilościowego oznaczania diftalocyjaniny neodymu, zarówno w surowych produktach reakcji syntezy jak i oczyszczonym materiale. Polega ona na pomiarach absorbancji badanych próbek w roztworze DMF przy czterech różnych długościach fal, tj. 500, 633, 671 i 800 nm. Zawartość diftalocyjaniny oblicza się z krzywej kalibracyjnej, przedstawionej w postaci równania liniowego.

Abstract This study examined the ability of the freshwater rotifer Brachionus calyciflorus to coexist with the large cladoceran Daphnia magna, and the effect of sublethal concentrations of copper on the competition between both species. Preliminary laboratory experiments showed that large Daphnia (> 1.2 mm) can kill and rapidly exclude the rotifer B. calyciflorus in mixed-species cultures. Brachionus populations were suppressed by Daphnia both through exploitative competition for shared, limited food resources and through mechanical interference. Studies of the local electronic structure and the short-range order in solid solutions Co x Mg1-x O with x equal from 0.02 to 1.00 have been carried out on the Co K-edge X-ray absorption spectra measured using the laboratory EXAFS-spectrometer. A non-monotonous change of the Co-O distance in the first coordination shell with the bent at x=0.5 has been established. The second coordination shell of cobalt has been formed by cobalt and magnesium atoms with a distribution close to statistical.

Abstract The crystal structure of the Zn(sulfathiazole) 2 ·H 2 O complex is reported. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C 2/ c . The cell dimensions are a = 9.098(3) A, b = 17.871(5) A, c = 14.61(1) A, β = 99.44(6)°, V = 2343(2) A 3 , Z = 4, and D x = 1.68 g/cm 3 . The final conventional R-factor = 0.027 for 2669 “observed” reflections and 191 variables. The Zn ion is surrounded in a regular tetrahedral arrangement by two N amino and two N thiazole atoms pertaining to four sulfathiazole (Hstz) ligands. Assistierte Zirkulation bei einem 7 Tage alten Neugeborenen wegen Postkardiotomie-low-output-syndrom

Bei einem 7 Tage alten Saugling wurde ein nach anatomischer Korrektur einer d-Transposition der grosen Arterien aufgetretenes Postkardiotomie-low-output-Syndrom mittels assistierter Zirkulation behandelt. Unter Einsatz eines Zentrifu-galpumpensystems konnte die linksventrikulare Kreislaufunterstutzung bis zur Durchfuhrung eines erfolgreichen Entwohnungsverfahrens nach insgesamt 20 Stunden der Kreislaufassistenz aufrechterhalten werden. Zum Entlassungszeitpunkt war bei dem neurologisch unauffalligen Neugeborenen echokardiographisch eine komplette Erholung der linksventrikularen Funktion nachweisbar.

PDB: A pictorial database oriented to data analysis

The paper describes a new pictorial database oriented to image analysis, implemented inside the MIDAS data analysis system. Pictorial databases need expressive data structures in order to represent a wide class of information from the numerical to the visual. The model of the database is relational; however, a full normalization is not achievable, owing to the complexity of the visual information. Relationships between electrodermal activity and symptomatology in schizophrenia.

The present report studies the differences between schizophrenic responders and nonresponders within the different symptomatologic groups of the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) and the Scale for the Assessment of Positive Symptoms (SAPS). The relationship between the different electrodermal activity parameters and the scores on the scales was also analyzed. The results showed that nonresponders had negative symptoms. In addition negative symptoms registered a general fall in all electrodermal-activity parameters.

Neogene through Pleistocene lava flows of the Nevados de Payachata region (lat 18°S) on the Altiplano of northern Chile fall into two discrete chemical groups defined by age and incompatible element concentrations. The Neogene suite (10.5-6.6 Ma) has trace element concentrations comparable to arc magmas erupted on thin crust in central Chile. Pleistocene lava flows (0.29-0 Ma) are enriched in incompatible elements relative to Neogene samples but have similar Sr, Nd, and Pb isotopic ratios. Incompatible element enrichment in mafic rocks reflects deep-crustal or subcrustal processes. Neogene volcanism in northern Chile immediately followed a period of intense crustal thickening.
