Effects of Some Directly-Acting Smooth Muscle Relaxant Drugs on Isolated Human Preparations of the Upper Urinary Tract

It is generally assumed that drugs which induce relaxation of smooth muscles may be of clinical importance in some urological disorders; such drugs are indeed widely used, for example in the therapy of unstable bladders or to facilitate the passage of ureteral stones. Antispasmodic action may be classified in neurotropic and musculo-tropic action; the former acting on the autonomic nervous system and the latter directly on smooth muscle cells. Examples for the first type of action are anticholinergic drugs or alpha-adrenoceptor-antagonists, whereas papaverine is a classic drug with the second type of action.

Der pH-abhangige Einflus von Lysin auf die Hydrolyse von Acetylsalicylsaure zu Salicylsaure und auf die Bildung von Lysinderivaten der Acetylsalicylsaure wurde durch HPLC-Untersuchungen geklart. Die Bildung von e-N-Acetyl-lysin, α-N-Acetyl-lysin und wenig Diacetyl-lysin erfolgt rasch bei pH-Werten der Losung von 6 und hoher, sehr langsam jedoch bei dem fur gebrauchliche Injektionslosungen eingestellten pH-Wert 5. Das Auftreten des postulierten Salicyloyllysins in Acetylsalicylsaure-Lysin-Losungen wurde durch Vergleich mit der unabhangig synthetisierten Verbindung ausgeschlossen. Static measurements of refractive index increments at 633 nm with a modified refractive index detector

A R 401 Waters Assoc. differential refractometer has been modified to obtain the variation of refractive index increments, dn/dc, of polymer solutions at 633 nm. The introduced modifications were in the sample injection system and in the light source. The performance of the modified refractometer both with aqueous and organic solutions is analyzed. In order to localize a conformational transition in lysozyme, the dependence of dn/dc on temperature for lysozyme solutions in phosphate buffer is studied. Similarly, (dn/dc)k values for the ternary n-alkane/butanone/poly(dimethyl siloxane) systems over the whole composition range of the binary solvent mixtures are evaluated.

In addition to side effects, the intravascular volume effect immediately after infusion and the duration of this volume effect are determining factors for the selection of volume replacement solutions available on the market today. Therefore, we controlled the intravascular volume effect of 16 test solutions, immediately as well as 90 and 240 min after the end of infusion.

Abstract The retention behaviour of C 1 C 18 n -alkyl esters of butanoic 2-, 3- and 4-chlorobutanoic acids was examined isothermally at several temperatures on SE-30 and OV-351 capillary columns. Retention increments showing the effects of each position of chlorine substitution are presented. The considerable enhancement of terminal chlorine substitution is discussed together with the corresponding behaviour of the monochloropropanoate esters.

Die besten Trennergebnisse lieferte eine (1000 mm×2 mm i.d.)-Glassaule mit 3% OV-3 auf Chromosorb G-AW-DMCS. Mit dem ECD konnten Edelmetallkonzentrationen im unteren ppb-Bereich erfast werden.
