Electric Field Effects and Miscibility in Cybotactic Micellar Nematic and Ordinary Nematic Polyesters

Abstract Miscibility behavior and electro-optical instabilities are reported for two main chain thermotropic nematic polyesters formed by regularly alternating a disubstituted azoxy-benzene mesogen with a flexible spacer containing either 7 or 10 methylene units (HEPTA-9 and DDA-9, respectively). Polymer HEPTA-9 displays an ordinary nematic organization and polymer DDA-9 forms a cybotactic nematic phase. Both are totally miscible with each other, and with PAA, in the nematic phase. Williams domains and dynamic scattering modes are observed in both cases.

By using a multidimensional model of activation (arousal), the long-term effect of mild exercise (10 minute treadmill walk) was investigated in the chapter. AbstractThe effects of subcutaneously or intraperitoneally administered dextran sulphate (DXS) (5nmg/kg) on the subseguent 1 h localization of intravenously injected radiolabelled lymph node cells was investigated in complement deficient mice which lack C5.DXS proved to be equally as potent in depressing cell localizzation in deficient as compared to normal mice. These findings. indicate that the terminal complement components are not, essential for DXS activity.

Abstract In some applications the relative sunshine distribution curves are very usefull. The present work tends to provide the above frequency distributions for the Italian area, using the daily data of eleven stations. A preliminary compatibility test is applied in order to verify if a dependence on location exist and it is deduced that the area referring to the various locations is statistically compatible with a few exceptions. Therefore, it is possible to give generalized frequency distributions curves which can be considered reference curves for all Italian locations. Bei der Therapieplanung und Prognose des Blasenkarzinoms spielt die Tiefe der Tumorinfiltration eine wichtige Rolle. Mit der Computertomographie ist eine Differenzierung des Tiefenwachstums von Blasentumoren in der Blasenwand selbst nicht moglich. Die Treffsicherheit der transabdominellen Sonographie bei der Stadieneinteilung des Blasenkarzinoms wird in der Literatur mit 85% angegeben [1]. Die intravesikale Sonographie ist der suprapubischen Ultraschalluntersuchung uberlegen: Schaller und Mitarbeiter [2] klassifizierten 26 von 28 Tumoren, also uber 90%, korrekt.
