Novel cuprous oxide morphologies using amino acids and carboxylic acids as structure directing agents in a simple hydrothermal method

Abstract The reactivity and catalytic performance of cuprous oxide (Cu2O) particles rely on the size and morphology of the Cu2O crystals. In this study, a facile and mild hydrothermal route is applied to generate novel uniform cuprous oxide microcrystals, using non-toxic and low-cost carboxylic acids (O,O-type) and amino acids (N,O-type) as structure directing agents. N,O-type complexing agents showed a higher ability to reduce the copper species compared to the O,O-type ligands. Content analysis is a popular method in communication and media research. However, to what extent and in which contexts it is used in sport communication research has hardly been investigated. In order to provide empirically grounded insight, the authors conducted a quantitative content analysis of scholarly journal articles using content analysis as a research method, focusing on three major international sport communication journals during the 10 years between 2010 and 2019 (N = 267). Bioactive extracts from persimmon waste: influence of extraction conditions and ripeness

In this work, a bioactive persimmon extract was produced from discarded fruits. A central composite design was used to evaluate the effect of different extraction parameters and ripeness stages of persimmon fruits on the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of the resulting extracts. Significantly greater phenolic contents were obtained from immature persimmon (IP) fruits.
