En este artículo se estudia la dinámica de las inundaciones en la plana de Vinaròs- Benicarló. El reconocimiento de las principales formas aluviales, las noticias de las crónicas históricas, los aforos y el análisis de la acción antrópica, permiten establecer dos sectores diferenciados. En la mitad septentrional de la plana, los problemas se derivan de la gran cantidad de cauces y paleocauces formados sobre los abanicos aluviales del Riu de la Sénia, del Cervol y de la rambla de Cervera, que conducen las aguas hacia los núcleos de población. Density measurements of pentanol (PentOH)−dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB)−water mixtures as functions of both alcohol and surfactant (mS) concentrations were carried out at 0.1 MPa from 45 to 75 °C and at 19 MPa from 25 to 130 °C. A heuristic algorithm for project scheduling with splitting allowed

In this article, we analyze the precedence diagramming method, the only published algorithm for time-only project scheduling with activity splitting allowed. The criteria used in this method (forward and backward pass computations) for deciding when an activity has to be interrupted are shown to be invalid in some situations. We look into the causes of these failures and propose new formulae that always provide feasible solutions. The new algorithm has been tested on 240 randomly generated problems ranging up to 600 activities and 7,200 precedence relationships, resulting in an average deviation from optima of less than 1 percent.

Tau hadronic branching ratios

From 64492 selected tau-pair events, produced at the Zeta(o) resonance, the measurement of the tau decays into hadrons from a global analysis using 1991, 1992 and 1993 ALEPH data is presented. Special emphasis is given to the reconstruction of photons and pi(o)'s, and the removal of fake photons. A detailed study of the systematics entering the pi(o) reconstruction is also given. A complete and consistent set of tau hadronic branching ratios is presented for 18 exclusive modes. Most measurements are more precise than the present world average. Presentamos un estudio retrospectivo de 26 pacientes diagnosticados de escoliosis congénitas causadas por hemivertebras, liemos analizado la evolución de las curvas según el tipo de hemivértebra, su localización y el tratamiento recibido. Se han obtenido los peores resultados en las niñas, cuando el diagnóstico se realizó después de los 10 años de edad, en las curvas localizadas en la región toracolumbar, en las hemivértebras múltiples y, dentro de ellas, en las unilaterales segmentadas no adyacentes y en los pacientes tratados ortopédicamente. Tratamiento de las fracturas complejas de fémur mediante enclavado intramedular encerrojado de Brooker-Wills

Se realiza un estudio retrospectivo de 19 pacientes con fracturas complejas de fé- mur tratados mediante el clavo bloqueado de Brooker-Wills. La causa más frecuente de dichas fracturas fueron los accidentes de tráfico. Hubo lesiones asociadas en el 63% de los casos. El tiempo medio de seguimiento fue de 27 meses. Nuestros resultados han sido evaluados mediante los criteros de Thorensen, obteniendo un 84% de resultados favorables. Hubo problemas técnicos intraoperatorios en 8 pacientes, la mayoría debidos a la penetración de la cortical femoral distal por una de las aletas. Todas las fracturas consolidaron. The laminar crust, constituting the upper part of calcretes (terrestrial CaCO3 accumulations inside surficial sediments), is a succession of thin layers of various colors and shapes resembling micro-stromatolites. The crust structure and its diagenetic evolution are similar to stromatolites. A quantitative study of its structure was made using image analysis. We have investigated the vortex core transition in 3He-B by measuring the associated changes in mutual friction dissipation within the superfluid. If rotation is continuously stopped and restarted while cooling or warming then the transition occurs at a clearly defined temperature, but temperature sweeps during continuous rotation show substantial supercooling and superheating. The technique of differential astrometry using the phase-delay VLBI observable promises fractional precisions of ~2 × 10−9 in the determination of the separation of sources 5° or 6° apart on the sky (Guirado et al. 1995a; Lara et al. 1996). In our present research we seek further improvement in this technique through using triplets of radio sources, which provide a closure constraint in the determination of relative angular positions. This constraint not only eases the resolution of the phase-cycle ambiguities (a major problem in the least-squares approach to astrometry with phase delays), but it also strongly constrains the space of allowable parameter values.

La casuística comprende 80 artroplastias totales implantadas desde 1991 a 1994 con un seguimiento mínimo de 2 años. La evolución clínica, valorada según el sistema de Harris modificado, ha sido satisfactoria en el 90% de los enfermos. Scaling theory describing the conformations of weakly charged star-branched polyelectrolytes in dilute and semi-dilute salt-free solutions is developed. The dependence of the star size on the number of branches as well as on the solution concentration is analyzed. It is shown that the star size increases with an increase in the number of branches, f, at small f and tends to a constant value at large f.
