Before embarking on a detailed discussion of the titanation of carbanions, synthetic and physical organic aspects of several typical organotitanium (IV) compounds shall be surveyed, including thermal stability, aggregation state, X-ray structural data and bond energies. Some of this information is useful in understanding reactivity and selectivity in reactions with organic substrates. Low valent Ti (II) and Ti (III) shall be mentioned only on passing; the interested reader is referred to reviews [1].

Irrgarten und Labyrinthe haben von jeher die Menschen fasziniert. Die altesten Labyrinthdarstellungen sind etwa 6 000 Jahre alt. Beruhmt ist die Sage von Theseus, der den in einem Labyrinth hausenden Minotaurus toten sollte. Zur Sicherung des Ruckwegs gab ihm Ariadne eine Rolle Garn mit; an dem ausgelegten Faden sich orientierend war es fur Theseus dann kein Problem mehr, wieder aus dem Labyrinth herauszukommen. Die folgende Abbildung dieser Geschichte wurde in Pompeji entdeckt. (Aus diesem einfachen Labyrinth hatte Theseus ubrigens auch ohne Ariadnefaden wieder herausgefunden.)*

The densities of 1-butanol and 1-pentanol were measured in aqueous solutions of dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide and dodecyldimethylamine oxide and the partial molar volumes at infinite dilution of the alcohols in aqueous surfactants solutions were obtained. The observed trends of this quantity as a function of the surfactant concentration were rationalized using a mass-action model for the alcohol distribution between the aqueous and the micellar phase. The different protein kinase activities were characterized by their ability to phosphorylate three exogenous substrates: casein, histone IIs and histone IIIs in the presence of different modulators. Approach to the analysis of nonlinear feedback oscillators under large-signal injection

A method for the analysis of driven oscillators under high-level injection is presented. It applies to single-loop feedback systems with a memoryless nonlinear element and a second-order (high-Q) tank circuit. The analysis technique employed combines the classical block-diagram approach with an improved firstharmonic dynamic modelling to provide a couple of differential equations capable of accounting for the amplitude-dependence effects arising under large-signal operation. Increased acidophilia of eosinophil granules after EDTA treatment

The acidophilic reaction of eosinophil leucocyte granules from human, pig and horse blood smears was investigated by using May-Grünwald-Giemsa staining after previous treatment with EDTA and sodium citrate solutions. The same peak at 530 nm, but absorption values considerably higher than those of controls, were found in eosinophil granules after application of chelating agents, indicating that removal of metal cations could unmask basic groups in these structures.
